Simi has had it to her nerves. about Yemi's constant bullying and torture.
Yemi always makes her look incompetent at her workplace simply because of his her superior.
This story is about my neighbor. She was complaining to her friend about what she was going through at work, and I happened to be outside that day Washing; of course, I eardrops. Anyways back to the story.
Simi was telling her friend Scarlet the story.
Scarlet asks Simi how did you notice that Yemi was stealing your work and taking the glory?
Simi answered Scarlet and said when she was employed, she was introduced to Yemi, and she was told that she would report to Yemi directly.
So, if she has any ideas or suggestions that will help the company to grow, she should not hesitate to share.
Simi is a very observant, calculative, and brilliant young lady.
One day, Yemi walked up to Simi after their morning meeting and asked if she had any idea how they could keep the company growing and stable based on what was discussed at the meeting.
Simi, not knowing what is ahead, shared the idea that she has with Yemi.
Later, the managing director called both Yemi and Simi to his office to ask them questions on what they think or suggest will help the company.
Before Simi opens her mouth to answer, Yemi sharply answers it.
The question was directed at Simi. Simi did not think too much about it.
Then came a project that everybody had to submit a proposal and it would be looked into, and the best would be chosen. Simi wasn't in the meeting, so she didn't know it was an individual thing because Mr Yemi told her that their department needed to win; Yemi asked her to write a good proposal for the upcoming event.
Simi swung into action and wrote a good proposal and gave it to him. He didn't wait for the d day and he went and submit. Simi's work was chosen, but to her surprise, Yemi was praised for her hard work. Not even the department was recognized.
This was the speech: Everybody, let's clap for Mr. Yemi Oseme; he took his time to write a detailed proposal that won us a contract that we have been pursuing for years ". All of you in his department should try to learn one or two about how to write a good proposal. Then the managing director turned to Simi; Simi, I didn't get your proposal; you have to be up and doing. I don't like people who are not smart.
When Simi tries to explain, Mr. Yemi hushed her by saying when the managing director is talking, listen and not try to interrupt him. The managing director became angry with Simi for trying to cut him off while he was still talking.

Simi says she felt like crying at that moment cause what in God's name is this. After the meeting, Simi confronted Mr. Yemi about using her work without giving credit to her or even trying to pretend that it was all the department's effort. Yemi lied trying to push the blame on the managing director that he told him. From that day Simi confronted him, he will always find a reason to discredit or talk down on Simi.
Simi was trying so hard to not have a heated argument with him but the wickedness was becoming unbearable.
But on this day, Simi couldn't hold back again. Simi prepared a speech that she was going to give for promotion; she was among the people who were nominated, and Yemi was among them. While she was preparing it, Yemi came to ask if she knew about a particular designer; she said No, he sent her on an errand. She left, her desktop open, and Yemi used Flash to copy her speech. On the day of the promotion, if Simi had not had two different speeches, she would have been embarrassed.
Yemi was called upon to give his speech, but it turned out to be Simi's speech.
Simi was boiling with anger but had to maintain her steeze and composure.
After the whole event of the day.
Simi confronted Yemi right there in front of the managing director and the entire board members, and she laid her grievances bare for everyone to see.
A round table meeting was called, and an exam was set based on what Simi said between her and Yemi.
Simi came out best, and Yemi was demoted while Simi was promoted.
Simi said she was very happy and had learned her lesson to always lock her laptop with passwords and to always ask questions about any meeting she was not available at least to more than one person to be sure. Never discussed her idea with anybody except everybody was called.
When I listened to her story, I just remembered when something like that almost happened to me, but I stood my ground. I will continue not to allow someone to use my hard work to shine.
