One of the most interesting things in Splinterlands right now is the promo cards and then the level up chests which are inspiring the Splinterlands battles like before.
We have Second set of promo cards released for purchase recently and I could afford few copied of Night Stalker promo card and I am going to review the same with the help of a battle as I am sharing below.
Night Stalker is a rare neutral melee attack monster which is also a sneak attacker from the Fire splinter and it costs 3K DEC for each BCX as announced by Splinterlands team some time before.
This 4 MANA cost monster is tipped to be the best thing for little league battles and also more useful in melee mayhem and super sneak battles.
But, as such, this monster can be a handy One in all types of battles where, sneak attack is enabled.
The stats for this monster, as we can see above, it has a melee attack starting with 3 and can be a max of 4 on it's own and with inspire monsters, we can get it increased even more.
The speed also hovers between 3 and 4 and this monster doesn't have any armors by default.
The health is bit on lower side as it starts with just 2 health which can go up to 5 if we upgrade it to level 8 which is the max.
As for as abilities are concerned, it has sneak from level 1, gets new ability execute which enables it to attack for the Second time in same round if the monster it attacks has got it's health reduced to 2.
And by level 8, it gets blast ability which will make it even more dangerous.

So, let's test this monster by using it in a battle to see how he performs.
All I had is a level 2 Night Stalker which is without execute and blast abilities, but it's 3 melee attack for 4 MANA cost should good enough to go.
This battle had 31 MANA costs for the record, but the little league rule set means, we can't utilize all those 31 costs and on top of that, there was other rule set to restrict monsters to 5 only.
So, for these things, I prepared a lineup as below with Night Stalker included in the middle to protect it, because, all he has is just 3 health in level 2.
1. Xenith Monk:
Used Xenith Monk in the front because pf it's heal ability and also it has void magic and magic reflect as well and will be a handy customer against all types of attack.
2. Doctor Blight:
Little league battles are always tricky and monsters with scavenger ability will be good bets and this monster is also having affliction and poison abilities and can camouflage itself from those snipe attack if any.
3. Night Stalker:
The hero of this battle, Night Stalker, is used for testing purpose and he didn't disappoint me as he contributed a lot in this win.
4. Uraeus:
As opponent used a monster with protect ability monster to build armors for all it's allies, this monster was helpful in removing those armors or even poisoning couple of those.
5. Kha'zi Conjurer:
I probably used this monster for the First time and I felt good with it as it helped with it's 4 ranged attack, but I feel I am yet to under the fire ability it has as it removes health from it ally monsters from Second round onwards.
That was the lineup I had for this battle and my opponent used death splinter with summoner which reduced the magic attack of Doctor Blight and his monsters were Xenith Monk, Dark Arborist, Soul Strangler, Ravenhood Warden and Venari Bonesmith.

So, Night Stalker will be a useful One and I would need to upgrade it somehow to level 8 to have those 2 missing abilities to maximize it's potential and it can be a match winner for me!!!
