It's been an era in Splinterlands, where each Splinter has more than One taunt ability monsters that too the magic and Ranged attack Ones which pushes players to use those and attract the attack towards backend or any part of the Second line than at the front and this has been the trend in Splinterlands right now.
When we have a taunt ability monster anywhere other than front position, then we also naturally use triage ability monsters which can heal Second line monsters.
Here I am sharing One such combination with Coeurl Lurker as taunt ability monster and Spirit Hoarder as triage ability monster with a battle I am sharing.
Taunt: Coeurl Lurker:
Coeurl Lurker is the Legendary neutral melee attack monster from Riftwatchers edition which has taunt dodge and phase abilities with level 2 monster I have and I normally use it purely based on it's taunt ability most of the time especially in melee mayhem or super sneak battles.
With it's phase and dodge abilities, it normally evades the attack most of the times and when we use it with One or Two triage ability monsters, literally it wins the battle for me by attracting all the attack towards it.
Triage: Spirit Hoarder
Spirit Hoarder is like a pocket dynamite, it has that useful 2 magic attack and it's abilities of blind and dispel apart from the triage ability, makes it a must use when we use a taunt ability monster.
While triage helps in refueling the health of a Second line monster, the blind ability adds another level of defense to Coeurl Lurker in this battle while the dispel removes all the buffs from the monster it attacks.

The battle I have shared here with link above, is a battle with 50 MANA cap and it's with One of my favorite rulesets i.e. super sneak and it also had shades of gray rule set, meaning, only neutral monsters can be used in the battle.
MANA cap of 50 allowed me to use Coeurl Lurker and other high MANA cost monsters as I explain below and win this battle.
Lineup:
1. Legionnaire Alvar:
Legionnaire Alvar with it's void armor, demoralize, giant killer and death blow abilities, is best suited for this battle as only neutral monsters are allowed to be used and there will be less magic attack monsters.
Another reason to use this was, I had planned to use Coeurl Lurker at the backend, so that, this could survive till end and win battle for me.
2. Magi of Chaos:
Shades of Gray means, less magic monsters out of those we have in neutral category and this helped in getting rid of Legionnaire Alvar used by opponent and it also helped to get rid of other monsters.
3. Spirit Hoarder:
The support of triage ability on this battle was instrumental to keep healing the Coeurl Lurker and it's dispel ability also helped to reduce the extra perk the front monster on other side got.
4. Gobson Bomber:
This was also able to play it's role beautifully with it's fury and recharge abilities combined with it's pierce ability helped in getting rid of Arkemis The Bear before it could do much damage and that was a vital One in this win for me, so, this monster did a great job in the win.
5. Supply Runner:
Supply Runner was used mainly to increase the speed of the monsters I used in this battle. It was also helpful to increase health of all the monsters by 1 with strengthen ability.
6. Coeurl Lurker:
Lastly, I used this taunt monster to attract all the attack towards it and as I explained above, the phase and dodge abilities helped it to evade many attacks and kept it alive for most part of the battle and helped in this win.
That lineup was One of the best I think against the kind of lineup opponent had used and once I could get rid of Arkemis The Bear, I was assured of a big win and it ended that way. Here are the screenshots from the battle.
There are many monsters in Splinterlands which, when used in combination, can win most of the battles and taunt and triage is One such ability combination which I use the most.
