How are you all doing? I know it was a long wait for the maintenance to get complete, but this is one of the best waits to be frank!!!
Why so? Because, we got a new battle mode and we got the league based rewards back and I am sure there will be many bug fixes as well from that maintenance!!!
So, what else do you need from this? I would say, I will be happy to spend the Glint as it is a season end day as well and get some nice cards and be stronger in the battles!!!
Well, I actually did the same and brought in 14 Epic cards.
Every time until last season, I used to buy loot chests and most of those used to have some potions, merits and ofcourse, some nice cards too but mostly common or rare ones.
Now that, I have almost maxed out the common cards (except Ujurak Brave), I decided not to go with loot chests, instead, buy the rarity draws and that too just epic ones.
So, I could buy 14 epic rarity draws as I showed above with my shared of 105K Glint I earned from the just concluded season.
Each card and each upgrade to next level will bring some advantage with these rewards cards and some of those cards decide the outcome of the battle when you use those and your opponent is not using and I think Arachne Weaver and Olivia of the Brook are Two such cards which are a must use in these days in Splinterlands.
When we say epic cards, mostly we will get Olivia of the Brook First into our mind. Apart from that, the other cards I like the most are Arachne Weaver, then Thanalorian Blade and even the Halfling Refugee.
So, I just got the 14 rarity draws and my aim was to get as many as Olivias, Halfling Refugees, Thanalorian Blades as possible and I opened those 14 chests to get awesome cards as below!!!
Three Olivia of the Brook from those 14 cards along with 4 Shock Trooper, Three Thanalorian Blade, Two Kha'zi Conjurer and One each of Arachne Weaver and Halfling Refugee!!!!
While I could upgrade Olivia of the Brook, Thanalorian Blade and Shock Trooper to next level, I also got some new abilities added or more health and speed or armor added with those upgrades.
So, I could upgrade my Olivia of the Brook to level 3 now and that brings the armor to it, but the mimic is already active and that is a major thing to be frank!!!
Thanalorian Blade is in level 4 now making it to have that extra melee attack which is 3 now and it's execute ability will find even more support with most of the backend or Second line monsters with less health and this monster get me more interesting in the battles.
The Shock Trooper is upgraded to level 3 and that gets the swift ability to make all the monsters get that extra speed and attack before the opponent attacks me!!!
It was a good last season and I am sure this and the next coming seasons will be even more interesting with an extra mode of battle enabled and also the leaderboard rewards to add that extra spice to play more and achieve more success!!!
I am bit hesitant to start playing the survival mode as the cards which are lost in the battle, will be blocked for full season and that means, the modern and wild formats will be hit or to play with lower level cards.
Let's wait and see and I am sure the fellow Splinterlands players will update thru Discord or thru blogs on their experience with Survival mode and based on that, I might start playing that mood soon!!!!
