Hello everyone,

Life these days is full of relationships without any real, meaningful connections because, at some point, a lot of people have experienced broken trust or had relationships abused.

Sometimes, while one person is genuinely trying to build a stronger relationship by getting to know the other person through meaningful conversations and thoughtful questions, the effort is not reciprocated. The other person simply doesn't give back the same energy.

For example, I might meet someone and genuinely try to know them by asking questions about themselves. However, if I notice that they are consistently uninterested or unwilling to engage, I'll keep trying for a while. But when I realize that nothing is changing, I simply move on.

Personally, I have a few people in my life whom I can call at any time, whether in moments of joy or difficulty. We freely share information, recent happenings, and good news with one another.

Whenever something really good happens to me these days, the first place I usually share it is on my family's WhatsApp platform. That way, everyone in the family gets to celebrate the good news together.

I still remember the period when I was struggling to gain admission into school. After waiting for so long, I was almost ready to give up. During that difficult season, my dad and mum encouraged me constantly, alongside my siblings. Their support and encouragement kept me going when I felt like quitting.

Then, the day I finally gained admission, apart from the person who helped me check the admission status, the very first person I wanted to tell was my mum. Before calling her, I tried reaching my dad first, but his line didn't connect because I knew they would most likely be together.

These days, many people have become very careful about the success stories they share because you never truly know what is in another person's heart. Someone may laugh and celebrate your achievements with you on the outside, yet secretly feel jealous or even look for ways to sabotage your progress.

Well, because they are my parents, I naturally expect them to share achievements and good news with each other before it gets to me. However, one important lesson I've learned is that it is necessary to know your place in people's lives. Doing so saves you from placing unrealistic expectations on others and protects you from unnecessary disappointment.

Thank you for stopping by. This is my entry for the Hive Learners' Weekly Engagement.
