I just entered secondary school when I cut my hair for the very first time. It was precisely because of my then school's rule to keep our hair on low cut, regardless of our genders. This went on for six good years and I could only gather my hair back after I completed my secondary phase of learning. To be honest, those days were actually very refreshing, I could bath and pour water on my hair and feel so much peace. Nothing compares to that feeling of water touching your scalp😩❤️
Then I started growing my hair back after secondary school and flash forward to when I got to higher institution, I had an experience that made me cut my hair again. I have a very soft scalp with very soft hair, which is quite still full despite the softness. So, I made this simple hairstyle and honestly, it wasn't tight. I always point it out to hairdressers about the situation of my scalp so I can avoid bumps showing up on my head after plaiting my hair.
So, after making the hair, I noticed that so many bumps were forming at the back of my head and before I knew it, it started swelling. It eventually swelled so much that it was very uncomfortable and I had to cover it up with scarfs and caps. I loosened the hair but I battled with the wound for a while. I eventually cut it because I thought my scalp needed a special treatment and to give it that, I had to feel it closer, so I cut my hair off. I actually felt better after cutting it, it was very refreshing.
I rocked my low-cut for a while before I started growing it again. It didn't take too long before growing back, my hair grows quickly. From then till this time, I haven't attempted cutting my hair again but there have been times where I had the urge to.
Lately, I have been having this urge to cut my hair again and I might actually act on it. I even told my mom about it few nights ago. The plan is to cut it and tint it dark brown, I am not a fan of all those flamboyant colors. Cutting my hair now will just be me trying out something new and again, to feel fresh. I just think it will be cool, don't you think?
