Hello beautiful minimalists,
In this week for Kiss blog Ideas, I'll be going with option 3 which poses the question: “How do physical surroundings influence your emotional life and relationships?”

Honestly, this question really made me pause and reflect.

Because people that are like me can attest to the fact that there are some days when just walking into a clean, quiet room lifts something off your chest.
And on some other days, that pile of clothes in the corner, scattered papers, or even too much noise around your environment, can definitely make you feel so unnecessarily overwhelmed. Yes, it's really that serious.

Now, in this phase of our lives where we are constantly talking about living simpler lives, choosing intentionally, and of course, embracing minimalism, I think this question hits even much harder.

Sometimes, it’s not even that life is too much, it’s just that our space is just too loud.

A cluttered space can actually mirror a cluttered mind. When I'm faced with a cluttered space, I unintentionally start snapping at people around and I eventually lose focus while still feeling drained, and not exactly even knowing why. Meanwhile, it's my own environment that is screaming for a breathing space.

But on the other hand, there is something beautiful about stepping into a room that feels so light; not really empty, but very much intentional. Where literally everything has purpose.
That kind of space tends to reflect in my emotions. I feel more calmer and more in control. You would see me smiling like I won a lottery and ill definitely listen better while feeling less irritable.

I’ve found that when I consciously try to simplify my space by letting go of the things I don’t need and creating room for what matters, it reflects into how I relate with people. They can feel my presence and my intentionality.

This tells me that, maybe the way our physical space looks and feels is more connected to our inner world than we actually think and the peace we crave a lot can actually be gotten in simpler ways by choosing the essentials and letting go of unnecessary clutter.
