A new month, a fresh breath, I am sensing something huge already. A mentor dropped me a message, he wanted our services and beyond that, I know it has been a while since we met since he is not always steady in the state.
It has been two years since I went to his place so when the text came in, I was trying to recall where his house actually is. There has been a renovation of roads so it also adds up to that. When I had a little chance, I put up a call that I was coming and what followed next was, ‘sir, how will I locate your place?’
Wait for it! You mean you’ve forgotten my house location? When was the last time you came here that you can't remember anymore?. I was trying to explain this and that and in the end, it was a landmark (nearest bus stop) that I got, period. I was expecting more anywhere since his place will be a trekking street.
Did it work out? I dropped by the nearest bus stop and wasn't still able to recognize the street. There is no point in trying to figure things out in a place where there has been some advancement in the last few years. I put up a call again and at most I got this time around was the street name. Why didn't he tell me in the first place? Is that what you are wondering also?.
This was the point where I could no longer make a call. Let me trace his house all by myself from here. As I was walking down the street, the road was getting clearer. A bending here, a bending there and I was soon at his gate. Anywhere I wasn't still too convinced until I met with his wife who was about to go out.
Is there anything to learn from here? Keep the house root of your close circle. He wasn't happy in the first place that I forgot where he was living. It means I have also forgotten him too. Inasmuch as there may be some other things I can try to consider in-between, maybe I should have been putting up calls more often rather than sending the company's weekly and monthly messages.
That part also paid out anyway because it was due to the new month message that he was able to instantly connect. Of course, there are laundry services around that area even as I was strolling in and I am sure he would have given it out if this text didn't drop on time.
Adding to that, he also told me there was a time he was looking for my contacts to give us work but he couldn't find it because we were no longer sending messages. I can't really recall, maybe there was a time our bulk message excluded him. So the entire messaging is a good strategy.
To conclude, let me add, there is still much to talk about as concerning how it went when we met. I am happy I have been able to connect back with a mentor after a while. Didn't I say that September and beyond will be full of new heights. Stay positive, new doors and doors which was under barriers will all open. Happy new month.
