Revelation 1:10 On the Lord’s Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet,

Before we get there, let's rewind back to who exactly made this statement. This is Apostle John or mostly known as ‘John The Beloved’. Some days back, I had to relook into what transpired here and well, who was in the spirit also.

I keep on saying; ‘The best trainer is The Holy Spirit’. We can also look at the situation of Peter when he was now able to address a crowd of thousands of people and drew 3000 people instantly to Christ. This is the same Peter that denied Jesus thrice. The fleshy fear in him by that time was just too much. He saw what his master was going through and wasn't ready to be a partaker.

Let's focus on John. Can you still remember what happened at Gethsemane when Jesus took his disciples up there to pray the night he was to be arrested. He in the process separated his best three at the moment and took them close and gave them instructions to pray.

Matthew 26:36-37 NIV Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” [37]He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled.

Their sensitivity to spiritual things was still light. It happened that anytime Jesus returned to meet them, they were all asleep. In the first occasion, Jesus said,

Matthew 26:40 NIV Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter.

It happened the same in the second and third interval before the master’s arrest. So what’s the take home here; weakness.

Yet a time came when this same John transformed very strongly. We can remember that something supernaturally strange happened on the day of Pentecost. You can reference this from the book of Acts of the Apostles.

To conclude, let me add, it shows there is always room for improvement. Jesus was merciful with his disciples till they became filled with the Holy Spirit to do exploit. I will love you in your spare time to read through the book of revelation so you can get a glimpse of how transformation can land a man in the realms of greatness.
