It's just a flimsy world. There is nothing special about it. And the most overrated luxury that people engage in is buying designer bag.

I mean, bag is a bag. So far it carries something, nobody cares. But these days, people have started looking at luxury bag as something that is defined class.

So there is an ordinary bag on the street. There is a Louis Vuitton bag. There is an Hermes bag.

There are so many other big brand, Chanel, Gucci and many more . But let's come to think of it. Is bag not supposed to carry something? Does what you put inside changes value because of the bag.

Why are people so infatuated by bags? To the point that they will spend millions upon millions to buy bags. And all what it does is to carry one or two things. And sometimes some of these bags are empty.

They don't have anything inside of them because they are just meant to speak class wherever they go and whenever anybody sees them. So, when you walk through the market and you browse some online stores, you see a lot of versions of this bag and they cost thousands of dollars. The craziest part is that many of these bags have replicas all in town for little amount of money and people are even buying that.

To the point that even if you buy the fake version, the beauty of it will not even let you appreciate the original one which is very expensive and is only for the rich. I understand that some bags are only for validation and to speak of class and levels and the amount of wealth that they have. Aside from that, nothing useful.

Some are also good in the area of exchange of values and the like. So, I've come to understand that the product is not the main attraction. The real thing is the status that is attached to the product.

But why are you attaching status to a handbag? Why not a house in Banana Island, in Dubai and stuff like that? Those ones have resellable value. But a bag that you have used, it only carries the logo of the company and nothing more. And the fact that you are an unpaid brand ambassador of an international company.

We live in a world where there is constant pressure to look successful and you have to use the right clothes, phone, car, restaurant, holiday and the right handbags that follow suit. With all this, you are speaking class. But all to what level Are you even doing all this? I understand that people are doing everything they could to come to a particular level of class.

But this time you are not buying quality, craftsmanship, authenticity or ownership. What you are buying is just a fluke. I would rather invest the money I would use to buy bag into some tech skills that would help my life and make me do better.

Or use the money to do something else. Another thing is fake watches. I don't really know how to wrap my head around this because when you wear a Rolex or another prestigious watch and walk around hoping somebody notices you.

The funny thing is that many people don't even know the difference and nobody even cares. So imagine you spend thousands of dollars to buy the world's most expensive wristwatch and as you are putting it in your hand, nobody even sees it to the point of using it to assess you. Isn't that the craziest part of overrated luxury that you can ever think of? And at the end, even if you tell someone that you bought it at so-so-so amount of dollars, they still can't see the real sense of it.
