Ok so as of yesterday’s post, I had made it to the Prairie View lookout, hung out a bit, captured some pics. Then started the descent, a little unsure of the trail going down as it was not marked well. As far as I understood, the part of the trail that connects downward is called “Jewell Pass”. Now I could be wrong on this, but I think it was in fact Jewell Pass. If anyone knows more than myself or can confirm, due share. To me, it seemed like the downward trail and circle back to Barrier Lake, took about an hour more than the ascent. It did seem quite long actually. The entire hike took me over five hours or so to complete. Making it one of the longest hike I have ever done actually. I know to some of you that might not seem too bad, but for me, it felt long. Still worth it though. Would I do it again anytime soon? Well, probably will not be in any big hurry to return. Still giving a 7/10 on my enjoyment scale!
