Saludos comunidad. @holos.lotus
Greetings, community @holos.lotus
There are moments in life when everything seems to revolve around a single person; it is as if their presence filled everything; on the contrary, their absence brings a void that seems unbearable. It is that stage of falling in love, where we can feel ourselves floating, as if the outside world lost its importance and only that whirlwind of emotions that pushes us toward someone existed; it is a real experience that almost all of us have lived, and that comes accompanied by a force capable of disrupting our priorities without us barely noticing.

In the midst of that whirlwind, we say things we did not plan, we make gestures that surprise even ourselves, and that sometimes we do not quite know why; emotions overflow and reason seems to remain in the background. It is something beautiful, but it is also worth asking what we are giving in that letting ourselves go, for the capacity to think, to decide, to choose with our own criteria is not lost on its own, but rather it is gradually yielded, sometimes without us realizing it, in that situation we are living.
That surrender can be legitimate and even necessary for relationships to flourish, but it should not be total or definitive; falling in love, with all its intensity, deserves to be lived with a point of awake attention, not to distrust what we feel, but to avoid being trapped in mistakes, mistakes that paradoxically end up damaging the very thing we want to care for, for if we do not realize what we are doing, difficult will be the construction of something solid.
On no few occasions a detail appears that, quite frequently, is overlooked, and it is that there is almost always someone around who notices it before we do: a friend, a female friend, a family member who affectionately tells us: "Hey, I think you're exaggerating," "careful, don't be closing yourself off to other things." That external voice, although it may sometimes be uncomfortable, may function as a mirror that gives us back a more complete image of what is being lived, and listening to it does not mean renouncing what we feel, but rather broadening our gaze.

Love, true love, is not about losing your head, but about involving it enough: feeling with intensity, but also looking at the relationship with lucidity. In the name of love, there is no room for disrespect, violence, mistreatment, or dynamics of control where one feels ownership of the other; those things are not love, even if they disguise themselves as it. Authentic love recognizes those dangers and leaves them out, for its nature is another: it is unfolding, growth, shared well-being.
Building a bond today, in the midst of a world that pushes us toward the rapid consumption of affections, demands something more than the initial spark. Attraction and falling in love are that beginning, the emotion that brings us experientially closer to the other, but relationships are also sustained by shared values, common projects, by gazes that meet and respect each other, moving from emotional vertigo to joint construction, with autonomy and full decision.
Love was born without owners, and precisely for that reason it is a construction that must be achieved with freedom, with the certainty that we are heading toward well-being and happiness, and not toward discomfort; although if it is about love, thinking is not enough, one must feel, but one must also dare to look straight ahead, with eyes wide open, so that the path we are traveling leads us both to a better place.
