Feliz y bendecido día
Happy and blessed day

Hi, friends! During this Talent Showcase week, our friend @angelica7 invites us to participate with a very special theme: “autopilot mode.”
I’ll tell you that these days I feel like I’m living exactly like that—on autopilot. This has been happening to me for years, specifically since the passing of my only son, because I feel like I’m just going through the motions. Every day, when I wake up, I always do the same things: I pray, make coffee, check social media, and make breakfast. But when I do these things, I feel like I’m doing them because I have to, as if each one were an obligation, and that doesn’t fulfill me; I feel disconnected, emotionless, and unmotivated. I feel like my life is on autopilot. I do things just for the sake of doing them.
I think living this way is a response from the nervous system. That’s what my psychologist told me when I shared how I was feeling. She explained that I was experiencing emotional overload; it’s as if the mind were telling us: “Look, keep going, but don’t feel too much, because if we feel the full weight of it, we’ll break.” This is what’s known as an “emotional blackout.” So my diagnosis was burnout and stress, caused by an excess of thoughts and by the deep sadness left in me by the physical loss of my son.
So, friends, my system has switched to autopilot, since I’ve been living without purpose ever since mourning my son; this has left a deep void in my soul and a tremendous disconnect in my life, as my existence feels as though it has no meaning. I think the hardest part of being this way is that it distances me from the joy of experiencing life, from the wonderful things one can experience, and from desire; but above all, it prevents me from connecting with the present.
That’s why I’m grateful for this space where talents come together, where our friend @angelica7 invites us to grow personally and reflect. After all, putting into words what we carry inside is also a way to begin to awaken. I know that stepping out of autopilot to heal the soul takes a long time, but the important thing is to take the first step toward acknowledging where we are and, eventually, to start doing wonderful things again and enjoying life despite the ups and downs.
Thank you for reading. Until next time.
