Hello Battle Mages, it’s an exciting new week and I am thrilled to share a battle I fought this week

I think it was about a week ago when I was doing summoner window shopping and Immortalis caught my eye. So, I rented him then and have experimented with it a bit. But given that fire is my favorite element, I haven’t really used the summoner that much until last night. Let’s take a look at the battle.

My opponent’s Line Up

My line up and strategy

Before picking my lineup, I glanced through my opponent’s line up and realized there were either fond of using heavy magic strategies or heavy melee attacking strategy. I put my money on them using a magic heavy strategy for this battle, and so I selected Immortalis as my summoner for the void magic ability, and little bit also for the shatter.

In position 1, I placed Lioceros, a monster with thorns, just in case melee attack is what my opponent leans on instead. It also had considerable health and armor, and a not terrible melee attack power, so that was okay.

Next, I put In Mycelic Slipspawn as my taunt, to draw away attacks from my low health tank heal and triage. I followed mycelic slipspawn with Goblin Psychic, my tank heal, to provide support to my tank, and I placed Spirit Hoarder right next to it Goblin, so it could continuously heal mycelic slipspawn which will be taking most of the hits.

Then in last position, I put Mad Ogre Anarchist for the opportunity ability. I noticed that whenever my opponent chose a magic focus, they put their low health tank heal somewhere in their lineup, so opportunity would’ve been a great way to take it out early, giving me a competitive advantage.

The Battle

Round 1

This round saw a good 22 attacks from both teams combined! My opponent had some very scary powerful melee cards, so his round of attack was scary. Putting a thorny monster first helped a lot because I was dealing back at least half the damage I was receiving even though I didn’t start attacking yet myself.

Magic Void ability also proved real handy as I evaded all the magic blasts from my opponent’s two monsters with 1 magic attacks.

I was also able to completely destroy the enemy tank’s armor. This is good news until you find out the monster I just stripped of armor is an enraged monster. So of course, I enraged it, buffing up to a powerful melee attack of 8, and with this buff, it knocked out Liceros. What was going through my mind when I saw it enraged was, “Damn, I’m fucked”. W

Round 2

Thanks to Scavo, I was able to restore my tank’s armor, basically cancelling out the possible terrible damage of my enemy’s 4 melee attack which would’ve knocked my tank straight out.

Despite my opponent having two tank heals, I was able to kill his tank in this round, and this calmed my nerves down a bit. But the battle wasn’t over. Far from it!

Round 3

If it wasn’t for the void ability, I’m very sure Mycelic Slipspawn (which was now in first position) would’ve been killed in this round. Missing two magic attacks each round was a very significant part of my victory. Oh did I just tell I won? Yes I did.

Anyways, I managed to take out my opponent’s tank and second most potent card (could even argue it's the most potent since it's a bloodlust) in the battle, and it was pretty much smooth sailing from there.

Round 4

In this round, I killed one of my opponent’s magic monsters. It wasn’t really contributing much aside slowing me down anyways, so good riddance if you ask me. In round 5, I had both enemy healers on their last health and…

Round 6

…finished them off in round 6.

Final Round

With 5 monsters (4 attacking, one non) against one, my opponent’s last man just wasn’t a match against them, so I blasted the last man into oblivion and won the battle!
