Welcome again to my Splinterlands post, this one I made as my entry of Splinterlands Weekly Social Media Challenge.
I won't make this one as a long post, I have shortened a bit because this post is about celebrating my Betrol Gobson who help me performed well in my last Brawl.
Betrol Gobson is one of the Gladius card, a soulbound cards which you can get them by buying a Gladius Pack in Guild Shop. So only for people who are excell in Brawl know how dangerous Bertol Gobson is.
Gobson is not a mega powerhouse, he is a small units which only demands 2 mana as the requirement to emply him into your team. He is a kind of JACK OF ALL TRADES, a bit of everything. In general he won't make it into your top of mind cards, because there are tonnes of competitors.. however in certain condition, he will become lethal...
We Will see how lethal he is later in this post.
Now let's see how my guild perform
First I am very happy Gobson helped me to get a couple of wins, which in the end made me had 3 wins and 3 loses there. It's a 50% winrate for brawl, and In general this is not great..
However I joined the Fray 24, Diamond League Wild format of Gold Foil Cards. I did not have any max level cards and this choice was a bit nuts.
It's not my first time anyway, two weeks ago I did the same and my goal was to steal a win or more because I should get 0 wins if every opponents I had were as serious as me, because their cards were way above my cards level.
But the bottom line is.... I have got 3 wins and all credits should go to Betrol Gobson
I will be honest here, there won't be any chance that my wins could make my guild get top 3. We are #5 right now and we are happy we are no longer bottom feeder anymore. And I should be happy and proud that my performance helped my guild getting far from the bottom.
HIGHLIGHTED BATTLE
Here comes our battle which was one of the Fray 24 Tier 5 Brawl battles. I came with level 3 Mylor, facing my opponent who came with max level General Sloan there. The level gap was too big, I should not win this one but...
The line up said for the opposite... They came with a melee team and my team who used Mylor a complete counter for them.
15 mana cap, this mana cap is one of my forte. My record is impressive for a low mana cap. This doesn't mean I am a master of Splinterlands game, but it shows that I play better than most people on this ruleset.
I had a hard time whether to go with Sea Dragon of waters oor Flesh Golem of Earth... and after checking that I had Queen Mycelia and Betrol Gobson ready, I chose Flesh Golem.
I had a hunch this would be a contest of tanks... whose tank excell more, would take the lead in this brawl. Flesh golem is one of the perfect small mana cap tank, he hits decently 3 damage, his speed is 3 which is not too lame, and he has 9 health point which his heal will give him replenishing 2 health point every round...
in this kind of battle, 8 health point which will be healed 2 points per round is giving a big gap compared to 9 health point which will be replenished 3 points per round.
Ok enough for blabbering, now let see how this one progressed

This battle started by both sides buffed their team. They tried to debuffmy team speed and they managed to do it... we had a speed problem here LoL

They came with 9 Melee damage per round. A team of melee only

My team had 6 melee damage and 1 magic damage. We hit weaker than them.

Overall my team was slower and hit weaker, this did not sound great right? However I had Mylor as my summoner here.
- Both of us lost a unit in the first round so in general we should be tied on par 4 vs 4. However things were not like that. Their tank was heavily wounded and my Betrol Gobson got a kill which buffed him up due to Bloodlust ability.
- Finally the gap was strengthen in the third round. My team won big in the second round and again my Gobson stole a kill and made him stronger again.
- OH my, they lost all their attacking units there. It's the strong point of my summoner, Mylor. His thorn makes all opposite melee units die from their own attack.
- Now they only had that Pelacor Conjurer but it's a complete headache trying to hit that dude.
- Round 16 was the last one, it's a good game
BETROL GOBSON OR MYLOR?
That should be the question, who is my team MVP anyway? the title of this post is Betrol Gobson, however the fact is that the most performing card in this battle is Mylor.
if I had to choose a MVP, I would still go with Betrol Gobson. Mylor became significantly important in this battle because eventually my opponent came with a meta that was very weak against Mylor.
If my opponent did not come with full melee units, Betrol Gobson would still excel in that battle. Because based on the mana cap in the ruleset, Gobson is one of the best Gladiator unit available for that.
