Good Day My Fellow Splinterlands Players
Welcome to another my weekly Splinterlands post. Yes I know you might be wondering what the heck is the title above... BACK DOOR DRILLING Strategy... It sounds so...

Well, it is related to this week theme, which all of us here talking about our favorite strategy. I have shared one of my favorite for the water element a few days ago, so for today I will share another one but this time is for my life element team.
There are reasons why I call this Old School Backdoor Drilling strategy. The first one, I call this one as old school because we will need some cards from old edition, one from alpha-beta and another one from Dice-Untamed. Well not only those two, there are many good cards from the past too.
The second reason, from the provocative name itself I bet you can guess it right... yes It is about sneak attacking our opponents, killing their backline units first, leaving their tank for the last. Initially this was a strategy fully focused on sneak attacks, but recently due to some newer cards with opportunity ability that can fit in well, it is more like a combined sneak-opportunity to wipe our opponents' backline first.
This time I will show you first the battle.
HIGHLIGHTED BATTLE
I pick this battle, a Brawl one for Diamond Cap Gold Foil. Both of us using a level 4 summoner, but the different is that mine is Lorna Shine who is a rare summoner, and their summoner is Conqueror Jacek who is a Legendary Summoner...
So my team was actually having a big disadvantages from the level gap. It's like comparing a max level deck vs a half one. but I was pretty sure I would win this battle, because I used the Backdoor drilling strategy.
This strategy would work because:
- We only had 23 mana cap, so none of us could use any monstrous superior card.
- Backdoor drilling strategy which I am talking here excels when the mana cap is below 30.
- My team would relied on 4 units to drill their back.
Is this that simple? lets continue this battle then, we are going to see how powerful my meta is

- It started with both side buffed and debuffed each other. My opponent came with 5 units only, and my team consisted with 6 units. It's a battle of a few strong units vs a bunch of small units.
- They had 7 melee damage and 2 rangee damage, which combined damage became 9 per round.
- my team had 14 melee damage per round. It looked like my team had almost twice their damage.
- The battle was a bit funny, it seemed both of us preferred to use non melee tank.
- Anyway this unit was a ridiculous one

-
WTF is this LoL , no wonder he wanted to sacrifice all for this unit... It's a god damn Gold Foil, very limited and super expensive

-
Despite having that super strong Venka the Vile, my team was dominating the first round. We defeated two of their units.

- My team momentum was halted, Venka kept dodging my attacks thanks to his 8 speed.

- Finally Venka the vile was shoved out from this battle. I believe at this point I already won the battle. It's a single man team after all. Good Game
CORE POINT OF THE STRATEGY
Maybe you think I win that because my opponent is bad... No, it was not like that. Venka The Vile is a ridiculous powerful unit, and if I came without focusing a sneak attacks, I would lose that battle for sure just due to one unit only.
So What is the key of this battle? Actually there are two cards that mandatory must exist in the line up. They are
1. Lorna the Shine

Lorna Shine is the backbone of this meta, none other summoner could replace her. What we need is her
Divine Shield ability. She gives divine shield to all units in her team, and this made even the weakest unit can not be killed by a single massive hit.
Life element has many small sneak attackers, you can combine them with some small units who use opportunity ability. Those small units buffed by Divine Shield become a bunch of die-hard units, in this battle you can see Venka The Vile was having hard time to kill small units, even his damage was more than enough to wipe out my biggest health unit.
2. Silvershield Knight

The second most important unit is this, Silvershield knight. Actually we only need his inspire ability, so I believe you can replace him with other unit as long you get the inspire ability.
Inspire ability is badly needed to build up momentum. we are focusing on sneak attacks here, or maybe we are aiming their backline. One for tank, One for Silvershield Knight, so for the rest we have 4 units sneak attacking opponents.
an Inspire ability will buff +1 melee damage, and if you have 4 units it means you get extra 4 melee damage per round. That damage guarantees a kill in each round. However this definitely won't work if you lose the inspire ability too soon. So make sure not to let him die too fast, in that battle I put him on 3rd, not on 2nd to make sure he would live longer.
How about the rest? Well put any melee units who can sneak or do opportunity attacks. You will see somehow those ordinary cards become strong thanks to these two cards.
So how do you think about my old school backdoor drilling strategy? Do you think it's cool, or it's a big NAY? Drop your comment below and don't forget to have fun in Splinterlands Battles!!
