Returning
For the majority of 2024, I was not present here on Hive. My inactivity really kicked in around mid-2023.
Life just got in the way. I was too stressed and preoccupied to keep up with Hive. I didn't have time anymore to interact with the people I once engaged with or read any posts that might've interested me. I lacked all interest—up until a couple of months before the most recent crypto "boom," if you will.
Back then, we saw the price of $HIVE sitting at $0.21. When I returned, my previously staked HP was in the low range of 2,200. I did have some 3,000 liquid HIVE in my wallet as well as another 7,000 or so over on Binance. I sat on these tokens for what seemed like a long, long time, back when I paid around $0.46 per HIVE.
Curation
Upon my return, I finally decided to put all this HIVE to use, staking it for my HP and curation returns. It was a fantastic decision. It spurred me on to enjoy myself around Hive again, and now my stake is decent enough to reward content with a meaningful sum.
That decision pushed me over 10,000 HIVE Power. I've been seeing a nice steady return of around 2 HP daily from my curation efforts. It has compounded quite quickly over the past two months or so—especially with the increased price of $HIVE reflecting on our vote values. I’ve seen it double once again in the past two days. My votes are now worth even more for curating!
Goals For 2025
I hope to achieve 10,500 HP within the next week or so, ideally before the end of this month. Going forward, I would love to earn roughly 250–500 HP monthly. That goal would be a bit hard to achieve, but if I plan ahead and act accordingly, I could see these goals realized.
It’s uncertain how much I could earn through author rewards and curation alone. I tend to not be very creative, so content for me is somewhat scarce—at least for specific niches right now.
That said, I do enjoy the market ups and downs. I try to capitalize when I can and, of course, sell on the highs and rebuy on the lows. It’s worked out quite successfully for me previously, and I hope it can continue. I recently sold my 1,530 liquid $HIVE for around 915 HBD. Ideally, the price drops back into the $0.50 range in the next day or so, and I can re-solidify my position with an increased amount of HIVE to sit on, repeat the process, or use to power up if I’m lacking in my goals.
I powered up 100 HIVE on the 1st of January. I would enjoy making that a habit on the first of every month. If that becomes a “thing,” I could increase by an extra 1,200 HP this year alone through self-powering up.
BBH & BBHO
I recently found out about the BBH project through my good friend here on Hive, bleujay. He graciously gifted me 1,000 BBH to get me started. Moving forward, I would love to get my hands on some more. Holding BBH & BBHO, I believe, allows you to receive dripped tokens weekly depending on your holdings and staked amounts, though I could be a tad wrong.
I am enjoying my small reflections currently and the use of calling the bot once a day to dish out a BBH reward.
LEO POWER
I would also like to increase my LEO Power over time. Due to my inactivity, I haven't seen my stake increase in a while. However, my most recent enjoyment and use of Threads have resulted in some small reflections. I definitely hope to keep up my efforts to stake and compile, and I aim to see my total $LEO Power rise over the coming weeks and months.
