Yankees Go Home!

(This GIF is made by me and it says "03/01/26 Free Venezuela")

They create the crisis and then administer the solution to appear as saviors; people believe them, and it is a strategy that has been working for many years. Maduro did not deserve to be in power for a long time (I would say from the beginning; he never convinced me). It is also blindness not to recognize that an authoritarian regime is established in Venezuela, and believe me, I never tolerate authoritarianism; but it is absolutely naive to believe that the United States has any benevolent interest in the people of our sister country.

It did not have any in Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, Haiti, or Iraq; it never has and never will. The United States made slavery, extortion, sabotage, and the use of force its favorite tools to become the world's hegemon, although today its power is crumbling. When it comes to power, interests are always protected, never values; power responds to the law that the end justifies the means.

That being the case, one sees a large number of happy Venezuelans, and there is no way to judge them: they are exhausted, mentally, spiritually, and economically suffocated; exiled, stigmatized, persecuted, discriminated against, and uncomfortable. The news of a possible regime change can only stimulate the breath of hope. Let's be frank: human beings are primarily emotional creatures, not rational ones, but this hope is precisely the big trap.

Who squeezed the economy's neck with the blockade, deepening the hunger and shortages that have plagued them for years, so that collapse seemed inevitable? Exactly: the United States. In this way, the Yankees from the north have had all these people by the neck, strangling them until they suffocated, until the lack of air made them lose their memory. Then they blame the Bolivarian regime (which has been very ineffective and incompetent, let's face it); then they go and kidnap Maduro, promise to release them and tell them: "We have come to save you." And they feel relief, and the hysteria is collective, and we see the paradoxical reactions of so many people today who, under that feeling of relief, will not take a moment to reflect on the vile way in which they are being manipulated.

I know, value, and admire many Venezuelan friends. I have sat down to talk with them and can see their brilliance, talent, and intelligence. I learned of the attack in the early morning, a few minutes after it began, precisely because one of them had posted a story on WhatsApp; then I began to learn about the events on the radio and other media. During the day, some have expressed their relief through their social media accounts; others have not, but I am sure that they also feel, in some sense, relieved. What I have not seen so far, among those I know, is any voice questioning the facts; anyone sowing even the slightest seed of doubt. And that, dear friends and colleagues, is the real tragedy; compared to that, Maduro's situation is laughable. Trump's victory today is to have those same people dancing in the streets who yesterday he branded as criminals and undesirable illegals whom he persecuted with ICE.

Celebrating Maduro's downfall is also admitting that they do not care about losing control over their most important natural (and economic) resources; it is recognizing that they are not interested in their sovereignty as a nation, as a people, and that is where the gringos win. Because the operation we are seeing today was not military: it has always been psychological and began many years ago, as Chávez once denounced. Maduro's kidnapping—because that is what it is—is only the beginning of the final stage of that great psychological operation; the gringos already know that emotionally they have him where they need him to achieve their objectives. Simple.

I am also concerned that no one is noticing the obvious intention to intimidate other leaders who oppose Yankee will, or that the next step is Colombia, which has been subjected to a similar operation for a long time now, and that they will continue from there down or up, overthrowing at will anyone who is inconvenient to them, as they have always done.

No, brothers and sisters: here in Venezuela, anywhere in Abya Yala, in any corner where migrants from our lands may be, the gringos are not coming to restore our freedoms; they are coming to reclaim for themselves the privileges we have taken from them.
