The summer of 2026 is finally here, and the Splinterlands team did not want to miss the opportunity to ignite the arena with a spectacular announcement. The upcoming 2 de junio de 2026 will mark the official landing of the brand-new seasonal event: Summer Fun Event, a festivity that promises to shake up our daily routines through the introduction of the coveted Gift Boxes, an aesthetic art update for our cards, and, most importantly for all players, an intriguing new ruleset that will reshape decision-making on the battlefield.
El verano de 2026 ya está aquí y el equipo de Splinterlands no ha querido perder la oportunidad de encender la arena con un anuncio espectacular. El próximo 2 de junio de 2026 marcará el desembarco oficial del nuevo evento de temporada: Summer Fun Event, una festividad que promete sacudir nuestras rutinas diarias a través de la introducción de las codiciadas Gift Boxes, una actualización de arte estético para nuestras tarjetas y, lo más importante para todos los jugadores, una nueva e intriga ruleset que reconfigurará la toma de decisiones en el campo de batalla.
Summer Fun Gift Boxes
The new event will introduce themed Gift Boxes containing multiple assets and skins. These are aimed both at buyers who want to send a gift to their in-game friends or keep them as souvenirs, and at those more focused on the economic aspect who want to get more value for their money and take advantage of these limited-time promotions.
El nuevo evento traerá nuevas Gift Boxes temáticas que contendrán múltiples elementos y skins, tanto para los compradores que quieran darle un regalo a sus amigos en el juego o tenerlas de recuerdo, como para los más interesados en el apartado económico que buscan obtener más por su dinero y quieren aprovechar estas promociones de tiempo limitado.
When discussing the contents of the Gift Boxes, we must immediately talk about the skins. Linked to the opening of both these new boxes and traditional reward chests, the event will give absolute prominence to the aesthetic section through a complete set of summer-themed cosmetics.
Inmediatamente, si hablamos del contenido de las Gift Boxes, seguido tenemos que hablar de las skins. Ligadas a la apertura de estas cajas y de los cofres de recompensa tradicionales, el evento dará un protagonismo absoluto al apartado estético mediante un set completo de skins veraniegas.
As usual, there will be two main variations: the Beach Bums set, available in standard Gift Boxes, and the exclusive Tidebreakers set, which can only be found inside Lavish Gift and Magnificent Gift boxes. Both alternatives will completely transform the iconography and artwork of the arena's most iconic creatures to give them a fresh, relaxed, and festive touch.
Y como ya es costumbre, habrá dos versiones: el set Beach Bums especial para las Gift Boxes estándar, y las Tidebreakers, exclusivas de las Lavish Gift y las Magnificent Gift. Ambas alternativas transformarán por completo la iconografía y el artwork de las criaturas más emblemáticas de la arena para darles un toque fresco, relajado y festivo.
These skins do not just represent a visual achievement to showcase on the battleboards; historically, these limited cosmetics tend to become high-value trading assets once they are no longer distributed. I would have loved to show you all the designs, but so far, I haven't seen them uploaded to the official Splinterlands website to analyze and share the individual art of each one.
Estas skins no solo representan un logro visual para exhibir en los tableros de las batallas, sino que, históricamente, este tipo de cosméticos limitados suelen convertirse en activos de gran valor de intercambio una vez que dejan de distribuirse. Me hubiera gustado mostrarles todas las skins, pero por ahora no he visto que se hayan subido a la web de Splinterlands para poder verlas y compartirlas mostrando el arte de cada una individualmente.

This event does not just bring recycled features from past celebrations; it introduces a brand-new item called Energy Bombs, which grants 5 points of energy to play in the Wild and Modern formats. This is a highly interesting idea that I hope can be transferred or obtained through other methods in the future.
Este evento no solo suele traer lo visto en otros eventos, sino que introduce un nuevo elemento llamado Energy Bombs que otorga 5 de energía para poder jugar en los formatos Wild y Modern. Una idea bastante interesante que ojalá se pueda transferir y quizás obtener de otras formas más adelante.
New Ruleset: Deploying the Exemplars | Nueva Ruleset: Desplegando los Exemplars
This event brings us a highly interesting new ruleset that finally enables the use of Exemplars cards. This was one of the core promises made by the development team, and it redirects player attention back to a mechanic that many might have forgotten.
Este evento nos trae una nueva ruleset muy interesante con la que poder usar las tarjetas Exemplars. Esta era una de las promesas del equipo de desarrollo y vuelve a poner la atención de los jugadores en una mecánica que pudo ser olvidada por muchos, pero que puede convertirse en un punto de inflexión para el juego.
As stated when Exemplars were first introduced, this feature heavily alters team composition. It allows players to design the exact card their deck needs: from a resilient tank with a specific mana cost, to a support unit that reinforces allies, or a highly aggressive unit designed to eliminate enemies with ease. This can cause a massive shift in the meta and act as the ultimate surprise element in many battles.
Como se dijo cuando se presentaron los Exemplars, esta mecánica permite alterar mucho la composición de los equipos al poder diseñar la tarjeta que se necesite en el mazo: desde un tanque resistente con un coste de maná específico, una tarjeta de soporte que refuerce a los aliados, o una unidad muy agresiva que elimine enemigos con facilidad. Esto puede generar un cambio muy grande en el meta o ser el elemento sorpresa de muchas batallas.
Since this ruleset might not appear very frequently and its specific card builds won't be easily visible in past battle logs, reviewing your opponent's match history becomes even more critical to figure out what they might deploy. In fact, some opponents might choose not to use them at all if they haven't upgraded them sufficiently, preferring to stick to traditional cards.
Al no aparecer tan seguido esta ruleset y dado que los diseños específicos no se podrán ver fácilmente en el registro de batallas anteriores, se le da una importancia extra al revisar el historial de los oponentes para intentar averiguar qué pueden usar, o incluso puede que ni los utilicen si no los tienen muy evolucionados, prefiriendo usar otras tarjetas tradicionales.
Honestly, this is one of the rulesets I look forward to the most just to see what kind of Exemplar builds players will come up with. It is undoubtedly the most exciting part of this event for me.
