I've been playing Splinterlands for a while now, and one thing I've realized is that the reward cards are very important, whether you play for Modern League or Wild League. I didn't appreciate them before because they are often overprinted, making selling them not very profitable. It's always better to keep using them in ranked battles to strengthen your deck. Since the change in the ranking system, I have a different set of reward cards in my deck, and I have no plans to sell them because you need strong cards to compete effectively.
There are going to be changes to the reward cards in the near future. These cards will not only help you earn more rewards but will also have a higher market value. The Splinterlands team is planning to change the way reward cards are introduced to the market. In the new system, there will be a fee to unlock the reward cards you earn. The longer it takes for you to unlock your reward card, the higher the fee will be. This change is expected to increase the value of the reward cards significantly. As a result, people will likely want to sell the cards above the fee. It's common for people to sell reward cards at low prices, especially as the set gets older.
This is the best way to create a base price because as a seller you will always target above your unlocking fee and the older the set gets in the market the higher the fee you will pay for it because the unlocking fee will also increase over time. This will stop so much inflow of reward cards in the market and a common thing that most people normally do is to sell their reward card early when the price is up and bye back when the price is low. People sell their strongest reward cards early like the legendary ones because there will be demand for them and the supply is not much then to make quick money and buy back when the supply is much and they are cheap but that will change now because they will increase in unlocking fees over time.
It only makes sense to sell the reward card that you are not using or the overprinted one in your deck and it will be good to sell the ones that are popular because trying to unlock the reward cards you will not be able to self is a waste of money. When you are not able to sell the cards and you unlock it is a loss which means there will not be too many cards on the market and most people will unlock the best-selling cards. Another thing the fee will stop is bot farming accounts buying cheap reward cards to play the game, it will be difficult now because the reward card won’t be Cheap any longer.
Overall it will increase the value of the reward cards and with the new set of reward cards coming soon, the team makes the incoming set very powerful, people will take earning reward cards seriously because they will retain their value and also be an important part in building one deck.
