As a music lover, I have a good connection with the beat from musical drums. I fell in love with musical drums during a conference that was organized some years back in high school. The guy who beat the drum knew exactly what part of the drum set needed to be touched and at the required time. Even though the Pianist and the guitarist played well, the sound from the cymbals, and toms flowed not just well with other instruments but had a way that allowed a free flow of the song that was being sung.

Among other instruments, the musical drums hold a special place in my heart, first, for its simplicity to learn, and secondly ,it has less rule-of-play compared to other instruments. Playing drums gives drummers the privilege to display their skills without necessarily following set rules. It says, play as you want as long as you follow the rhyme. One can sit and express himself while playing and that makes drumming unique without the need to copycat. With no long list of rules, drums will say, learn the sound, be flexible, and allow your spirit to guide you. As long as one can play, it doesn't matter what kind of drums he meets in the future, he'll still play it with ease.

One thing I noticed with drummers was that they were always happy. The happier they are, the better they play. This could only mean, drums are connected with our emotions. It's our whole being poured into it and that's why they dance to their beat. The drums ability to produce different sounds from soft and delicate to loud and powerful, is truly mesmerizing. The sound from the cymbals gives a loud and powerful sound, then soft and delicate sounds from the toms, then the high hats. Just a little math on which set to hit next makes drumming all fun.

Even before the introduction of the piano and guitar, drums alone were used for entertainment and were powerful enough to be versatile in the kind of sound needed and so it is today. The beat of a drum can cover up the flaws of other instruments if the drummer is skillful enough but a Pianist can't cover up a flaw from a drummer who is bad at playing and this is because the sound of a drum is a vital aspect of sound in music.

The musical drum is more than just an instrument - it's a world of enchantment, creativity, simplicity, and self expression. Its captivating sound, versatility, and free-play pattern makes it my favorite instrument. I love to watch professional drummers play and one can notice their joy and free spirit as they play the drum, moving their body to the rhythm. It's unfortunate that I'm not a good drummer yet, but that's what I desire to learn. Just like the Legends I've seen play in the past, uplifting the spirit of worshippers, and musicians, I'll take on my love for drumming and allow my spirit guide me as I flex my hands on them.
