Hi everyone! Welcome to another edition of the Inleo daily prompt. This post will be serving as an entry to the #augustinleo prompt, Day 13! .

We should always note, individually, that there's never going to be a better version of us than ourselves. Comparing oneself to others, if you ask me, has more negative impact than positive one in the life of a person.
Positive effects:
-
Motivation and inspiration to becoming a better person: Comparing yourself to others can sometimes be a good way of motivating yourself to improve and build yourself to become a better version of yourself.
-
It helps improve time spent in discovering oneself during the learning process to growth: Observing other people's strengths and weaknesses can help you know quickly a better way to go in life. Learning from their experience.
Negative effects:
It Decreases One's Self-Esteem: Comparing yourself to others can make you have a low self-worth.
Because I remember when I got into hive at first, I was always trying to compare the upvote I get in my posts to the ones of the people who have been here for awhile. Which had a way of affecting me then.
Because I had a low self-esteem firstly because I was always busy comparing the content of my post to there's without understanding the way things work at first, but then with time, I got to understand the system of how things were done in the blockchain.
Another Negative Impart
-
Unnecessary Pressure And Frustration: Comparing yourself to others sometimes just has a way of making you feel frustrated. Because the moment you sense that the other person is doing better than you, you just start having a sense of mood swings for no reason.
-
Competition: Being in a competition with others can lead one to going to extra length to do better when the competition is getting tougher. You wouldn't even know when you land yourself in a mess you might not be able to come out of for life. This has led many into their early graves. I've learned from this common scenario of how some parents compare their children to other people's children, and trust me when I say this has had a way of making some of them go into so many illegal things.
For An Example:
• Fraud(Yahoo)
• Robbery
• Money laundry, etc.

This has literally landed many people into troubles in several ways. Because if you begin to compare yourself to other people, I promise you, with time, there's definitely going to be a sense of competition. Just imagine being in a competition with someone that does whatever thing they do without stress or being in a competition with someone that has a secret place where they renew their wealth. Now imagine being in a competition with someone like that; you're definitely not going to know when you'd go deeper and deeper into things you're not meant to deep your hands into on a normal day. Because at some point in time, jealousy is definitely going to play its part, and at the end of the day, you will surely go extra length to be better than your competitors. Which might lead to something else at the end of the day.
I believe that being unique in one way is far better than comparing yourself to understand. Because the moment you're mature enough to understand that you're YOU and not anybody else, the moment you learn to work more on yourself and be a better version of yourself. Rather than try to be like someone else.
There was this time whereby I was beginning to compare myself to people, and with time, I got to understand that everyone is quite different and unique in their own way. That made it easier for me to discover myself earlier and also tired my best to always be the better version of myself.
Because I got to notice that when I started comparing myself to people then, there was a touch of jealousy that was trying to come in. And trust me when I tell you that when you're being jealous of people, it most times has a way of making you want to wish them bad and also want to do anything to make sure they are not better than you.
Which, if time is not taken, might end up getting into your head too much, and you might end up going extra miles. You'd get to notice that instead of being happy genuinely for the person, you just seem to be like,"What has he done that anybody cannot do?" You notice that you keep rubbishing this person's effort most of the time and always complain about every effort the person makes.
What many don't know is that by doing that, you are literally having a way of hindering your own blessings. Because if everyone around you is doing something good and you're always being sad about it, it would be quite hard for you to even succeed in society.
Being happy for people genuinely and doing your own thing with a clean and free-hearted heart will only help you attract your own blessings faster than you will ever expect.
SUMMARY
Focus on your unique journey and always learn to celebrate your accomplishments without comparing yourself to anyone. Because I believe that we are all different and everyone in life has their own time. So why compare yourself to someone else? Just be you. Keeping investing in yourself, praying, and always learning to be happy for people because it's definitely going to help push your blessing closer to you.
