It was always a thing of joy for me whenever I sensed the closeness of the month, December, when we have our longest holiday. I get to see and celebrate with my family again for the Christmas eve and new year also. It's always a great time spending my time with not just the few of us, but the whole house. During that period, I was still in high school while all my older siblings were all done with high school and were all in the university.
I was always looking up to seeing them again and spending quality time together with them after a long while of not seeing them because I was still in high school. I was always excited whenever this period was here, and I always ensured to give out many of my valuables whenever this time was here because I always wanted to start a new year fresh because I definitely knew I was going to acquire new things back while starting the new year. It has always been like that for me.
My school always ensures they also organize an end-of-year school party for us where we all get to spend quality time with one another as students to create memories together. We play lots of games together and partake in all sorts of activities just to make memories before we all depart to our separate place for the long holiday, which was always the Christmas eve and new year.
It was really a good thing that my school were able to brainstorm such a thing because it literally has a way of making me miss school too, even when I'm out of town to be with my family. You get to talk to new people you've never had a conversation with before, spend a lot of things with them, and create memories you can forget in years. And for me, it always had a way of making me feel like not wanting that day to be over anytime soon.
There was this time I got to speak with a girl I liked in school for the first time in my life during that party because I was a very shy person that doesn't know how to talk to a girl. It was more cool when she said she wanted me to see her off to her place. It was more like heaven on earth for me. When I was done seeing her off to her place, we then went ahead to exchange contacts, and then I literally started missing her more and didn't want to let go of her, but then I had no choice but to let go of her at that time.
As much as I always want the holiday to be longer because of how good it always turns out to be that I barely want it to end, I still miss her, the new people I met before going on vacation, and also my friends. The memories we shared before we all departed for the holidays gave me lots of reasons to want to come back so quickly. Which made it quite easy for me to always be on track most times after the holidays.
School was more fun for me because of the set of people I had around me. Whenever I remember activities we spend time doing together in school, I always have more reasons to want to come back on track. I literally don't really miss my teachers that much, but I miss the people who made school a better place for me. Which were my close friends and mates. The genuine love we all shared then was something to talk about.
I really did love my circle of friends because we were always there for one another, we cared for one another, everything about us that year was just so real, and I always cherished every moment I shared with them. Those sets of friends were some of the realest people I have ever come across in my whole life.
How we share with one another and how we always got our back is something I love so much too. Even when we weren't on good terms, we still loved, cared, and stood by one another. We study together, do music together, eat together, and so on and so forth.
Summary
I found it quite easy to stay back on track whenever I was back because I had the right set of people that gave me every reason too. Having a good circle of friends that were really, if you ask me, one of the top reasons why I found it easier to stay back on track even when I still wanted to spend more time with my family.
