Two weeks ago, I was at home doing nothing since it was holidays and was literally bored. While scrolling through Hive, I ran into a posting prompt for a favourite game or sports and then, I discovered that I literally do not know how to play games, apart from Ludo board game. A friend talked me into learning Splinterlands. It was all weird at first. Really weird, I mean!
I've read lots of battle reports over the last two weeks and decided to try out my level of comprehension. I started out with the modern ranked battles. I was curious on how I will get to buy cards to play the battles, but was surprised that I had access to cards for free. Thank you Splinterlands team bcause I will have to test if the game is interesting before I choose to buy my cards.
My first splinterlands battle recorded a manna cap of 19. I discovered that I had about 3 minutes to set up my cards. All splinter types could be used in the battle, depending on the summoner selected. Here is the link to the battle.
In the set-up page, I selected the summoned. I started with TARSA. Selecting TARSA, auto-highlighted the monster units I could use for the battle. TARSA has a manna of 4. Monsters that i selected for the battle were TENYII STRIKER, MAD OGRE ANARCHIST, and ANTOID PLATOON. The manna cost of all three monster units added up to 19.

Tarsa (summoner), Tenyii Striker, Mad Ogre Anarchist, Antoid Platoon
versus
Obsidian (summoner), Endless Ape, Venari Knifer
Both teams were set for the combat as shown in the screenshot above. Let's talk about what happened when the battle started. My monster TENYII STRIKER made the first attack with its 3 melee. I got back attacks from the enemy's ENDLESS APE.
My MAD OGRE ANARCHIST also could attack from its position but it got back a thorn damage from the enemy's VENARI KNIFER. That was a surprise for me that my attack was returned.
The exchange of attacks among the monsters continued to the end of thr battle when all the monsters in the enemy team were completely destroyed. Winning that battle earned me 20 Modern reward points. It was super interesting. i don't know what to do with those points earned. I hope as I continue, I will get to understand.
I am told that there is more I can access in the splinterlands game in terms of reward if I purchase the spellbook. I can't wait to start earning Glint token, Splintershards.
