This tonic is a combination of fresh bitter leaves, and liquid peak milk. some of the health benefits of these drinks and the purpose of which I love making it is due to the presence of vitamin A, C, B12 and B1. Most importantly, It is rich in quinine, help to cure malaria, clean the liver, lymphatic system, and lungs too. Bitter leaf juice when taken alone can also help one loose weight because of nutrients like iron zinc and fiber in it.
Peak milk tin also do contain nutrients, it is fortified with 28 vitamins and minerals for stronger bodies and sharper minds keeping you active which is why milk and and bitter leaf juice is such a healthy combo.

I have watched my mom does this recipe a lot back then and she would force us to take it with her but despite with that there is always sweet or sugar by the side to kill the bitterness but now am more mature not to consume sweet  immediately after taking the mixture. Again, it said that this mixture also serves as blood tonic but am yet to confirm from all the research have done but I do know it helps a lot to control sugar level.

As for me I just do this recipe once a while especially when have consumed too much sugar for that month especially just now that we just celebrated Christmas and new year so I decided to do this to help control the excess sugar in my system. It is advice to drink on empty stomach relieving stomach discomfort. It is also adviced not to be consumed in excess as it can lead to loss of appetite, drink moderately.

Ingredients

To get started, these were the ingredients I used and the bitter leaves can be gotten from our home garden cause that where I plucked mine from or you can either buy from the market but the one grown at home is a lot more fresher. Any type of milk is welcomed but I prefer peak milk for this combo.

Here the ingredients are:

*Bitter leaves

  • Peak milk tin (87g)
    *Water ( medium sized cup)
