Having a kitchen garden for the past one year, has indeed help saved lots of resources. Personally I would say it's a blessing in disguise because there are some days where we would need to use lots of vegetables yet there is just  little money in the house and thanks to our little garden that is there to save us. Although we don't have so much of different varieties of plants in the garden since we never planned for one from the beginning my mom just decided we start growing it since most of the vegetables we get from the market are not always so fresh compared to the ones grown at home.

Showing you my little garden, first is the fluted pumpkin leaves. The fluted pumpkin is our most favorite in the house, like we use it frequently especially whenever we are preparing native jellof rice or soup you get to see pumpkin leaves in the food . One thing I like about it is that it contains protein for hormone balancing, tissue repairs and also regulate acidities of body cells and organs.

Secondly is our special okra. Okra is one of my mum's favorite soup and because of that she said we must add it to our garden. Although okra is low in calories but packed with lots of nutrients. It is rich in vitamin C which supports immune function.

Lastly is our lemon grass in which we mostly use it in preparing our healthy lemon grass tea which over the years has become our frequently drink tea.

Also by the side of our pumpkin leaves we planted yam in sacks which we hope it grows well.

This is just the little plants we have in our kitchen garden and the experience is overwhelming knowing fully well we don't have to go to the market to either buy okra or vegetables leaves and I wish we even add more to what we have but then there is no so much space around the house that's why we have to plant them separately.

All photos are mine.
