Un saludo muy grande a la comunidad amante de los viajes. En la excursión de hoy visitaremos la "Casa de Vacas" (1833), construcción situada en el Parque del Retiro de Madrid.

Un pequeño edificio de una planta, no muy vistoso, seguramente por la humilde función que cumplió en su origen. Ya que comenzó siendo una vaquería destinada a la producción de leche destinada a la venta.

A pesar de su apariencia discreta, es un edificio que a los amantes del estilo industrial, probablemente les pueda gustar bastante. A mi me gusta.

Qué interés puede tener ésta visita. La respuesta es sencilla, junto con otras construcciones presentes en el Parque del Retiro, desde hace algunos años es un espacio destina a exposiciones de arte.

Durante esta visita se encontraban vigentes dos exposiciones: la celebración del 110 aniversario del equipo de fútbol Rayo Vallecano y la Cow Gallery Madrid.

Visitaremos a una de estas dos exposiciones, ¿adivinan a cuál?

A big greeting to the travel loving community. In today's excursion we will visit the “Casa de Vacas” [Cow House] (1833), a building located in the Retiro Park in Marid.

A small one-story building, not very showy, probably due to the humble function it originally served. In spite of its discreet appearance, it is a building that lovers of industrial style will probably like a lot. I like it.

What interest can this visit have. The answer is simple, along with other buildings present in the Retiro Park, for some years, is a space that throughout the year is intended for art exhibitions. On this visit there were two exhibitions: the celebration of the 110th anniversary of the Rayo Vallecano soccer team and the Cow Gallery Madrid.

Muy cerca de la Casa de Vacas se encuentra el embarcadero del estanque Grande del Parque del Retiro.

El estanque, aunque no es una gran masa de agua, es una buena plaza para el recreo, ya se quiera montar en barca o simplemente se quiera observar el atardecer, que es lo que vamos a hacer, al menos es lo que voy a hacer yo.

Very close to the Casa de Vacas is the pier of the large pond of the Retiro Park.

Aunque hay dos momentos en el año en los que aconsejo visitar este gran parque, otoño y primavera, tanto en verano como en invierno puede llegar a ser un sitio muy amable con el visitante.

En los días claros de invierno, un emplazamiento excepcional para recibir la última luz del día es el Monumento a Alfonso XII.

Situado en una de las orillas del estanque es el punto elegido por numerosos visitantes para recibir las últimas caricias del Sol sobre el rostro. Resulta curioso observar, como a pesar del frío, hay visitantes vistiendo pantalón corto como si quisieran llamar al verano.

El monumento, con una columnata en forma semicircular, da cobijo a una estatua de un Alfonso XII montado a caballo sobre un pedestal elevado, realmente espectacular.

A mi alrededor, sólo se oye el sonido de las decenas de gaviotas que sobrevuelan sobre nuestras cabezas. Es un lugar realmente hipnótico, en el cual podría permanecer durante horas.

El único inconveniente es el paso del tiempo, el frío se hace más presente y la luz acaba por escapar a recuperar fuerzas para el próximo día.

Although there are two times of the year when I recommend visiting this great park, autumn and spring, in both summer and winter it can be a very visitor-friendly place..

On clear winter days, an exceptional location to receive the last light of day is the Monument to Alfonso XII. Located on one of the banks of the pond is the point chosen by many visitors to receive the last caresses of the sun on the face. It is curious to observe, as in spite of the cold, there are visitors wearing shorts as if they wanted to call the summer.

The monument, with a semicircular colonnade that shelters the statue of Alfonso XII riding a horse on a raised pedestal, is really spectacular.

Around me, you can only hear the sound of dozens of seagulls flying overhead. It is a truly hypnotic place, in which I could stay for hours. The only drawback is that time passes, the cold becomes more present and the light ends up escaping to regain strength for the next day.

Antes de abandonar este monumento, me despido de los leones y otros seres de bronce que se quedan esperando (eso creo) la llegada de la Luna y de la estrellas (en Madrid, pocas).

Volvemos al inicio de esta publicación. Una forma sencilla de llegar a la Casa de Vacas desde cualquier punto de Mdrid es el transporte público. En este caso, la línea 2 de Metro tiene una parada llamada Retiro con una salida muy cercana a nuestro objetivo.

Seguro que lo han adivinado, vamos a visitar la exposición Madrid Cow Gallery. El aniversario del Rayo Vallecano lo dejaré para otra comunidad.

Conocí los trabajos que forman esta exposición paseando por Madrid. Un día, el centro de la ciudad se llenó de decenas de vacas de fibra de vidrio decoradas por una treintena de artistas. Los promotores de la inicuitiva explican que esta muestra callejera de arte es un intento de fusionar el campo con la ciudad o algo así.

La verdad, es que no me interesan mucho las buenas o malas intenciones de esta exposición de arte callejero, pero el resultado me gustó bastante.

Las vacas se encontraban dispersas por Madrid por lo que visitarlas a todas se hacía un poco complicado. Sin embargo, como se podían ver todas juntas en la Casa de Vacas, y allí me dirigí.

I met the works that make up this exhibition while walking through Madrid. One day, the city center was filled with dozens of fiberglass cows decorated by about thirty artists. The promoters of the initiative explain that this street art show is an attempt to merge the countryside with the city or something like that.

The truth is that I'm not really interested in the good or bad intentions of this street art exhibition, but I quite liked the result.

La temática de todas estas esculturas-vacas es la ciudad de Madrid. En ellas se podían ver plasmados muchos tópicos sobre la ciudad y algunas verdades, como que Madrid es una ciudad que rebosa cultura por todas partes.

Cabe mencionar que la exposición se encuentra en el llamado Pasaje de la Luz, declarado como Patrimonio de la Humanidad, formado por el Paseo del Prado (Museo del Prado y Jardín Botánico) y el Parque del Retiro.

The theme of all these sculptures-cows is the city of Madrid. In them you could see many clichés about the city and some truths, such as that Madrid is a city full of culture everywhere.

It is worth mentioning that the exhibition is located in the so-called Pasaje de la Luz, declared a World Heritage Site, formed by the Paseo del Prado (Prado Museum and Botanical Garden) and the Retiro Park.

Al llegar me encontré con bastante gente observado la exposición, que no era otra cosa que un rebaño de vacas multicolores al aire libre. A pesar de tanto visitante, se podía caminar entre las esculturas sin problemas, y tomar alguna fotografías sin mucha dificultad.

Upon arrival I found quite a few people watching the exhibition, which was nothing more than an open-air herd of multicolored cows. Despite so many visitors, you could walk among the sculptures without problems, and take some pictures without much difficulty.

De las más de treinta esculturas presento las que más me gustaron y, ciertamente, he seleccionado muchas por la dificultad de la tarea (me ha costado hacer los descartes). Casi todas las vacas expuestas eran capaces de transmitirme algo.

No todas las fotografías que presento son del rebaño. También mostraré alguna fotografía de la exposición callejera, y ya lo adelanto: las vacas del rebaño tienen una versión de Madrid muy diferente a las solitarias vacas callejeras.

Of the more than thirty sculptures I present the ones I liked the most and, certainly, I have selected many because of the difficulty of the task (it was difficult to make the discards). Almost all the cows exhibited were able to transmit something to me.

Not all the photographs I present are of the herd. I will also show some photographs of the street exhibition, and I already anticipate: the cows of the herd have a very different version of Madrid than the lonely street cows.

Reconozco que esta escultura me encanta, aunque el contenido me produce un gran conflicto. La llamada "Movida Madrileña", como tal nunca existió, ni la llamaron así sus protagonistas. La movida fue la llegada tardía de la New wave y del Punk a Madrid. En El Penta, local emblemático con el Rockola, La Vía y otros de la "movida", se escuchaban todas las noches a Los Ramones, The buzzcocks, , etc. No voy a contar más cosas de mi ya larga vida.

Tiene el Mediterraneo una tradición de cazadores de luz, como Sorolla, y en esta ocasión tuvimos la suerte de que otra cazadora de luz pasara por Mdrid.
