Hola comunidad, ¿Cómo están?.
Hace poco inauguraron Amapola, un restaurante, cafetería y heladería ubicado a solo cuatro cuadras de mi casa. Está en una esquina de San Miguel, en la dirección Muñoz 997, y aunque desde afuera ya se veía acogedor y muy bien ubicado, no había tenido tiempo de visitarlo… hasta hoy.
Justo este 9 de julio, feriado nacional en Argentina, mi hija me dijo:
Mamá, ahora cuando venía de hacer las compras y pasé por Amapola y vi que hoy tienen menú especial por el feriado. ¿Y si vamos y lo conocemos?
Y así fue. Aprovechamos que el clima estaba ideal: nada de heladas, incluso salió el sol. Caminamos hasta allá con lo justo, una chaqueta que al final ni usé porque salí en remera (o franela, como le diríamos en Venezuela).
Al llegar, nos encontramos con un ambiente muy concurrido y festivo. El menú del día era imposible de ignorar: una empanada frita que estaba es-pec-ta-cu-lar (¡y eso que yo no soy amiga de las empanadas fritas!).
Un plato humeante de locro bien tradicional, granos, chorizo, cerdo, choclo… una bomba deliciosa.
Y una jarra de bebida a elección (limonada, pomelo).
Y de postre, un cuadrito de tiramisú que estaba para aplaudir. Todo por apenas 8.500 pesos.
Y si querías sumar una copa generosa de vino, solo 1.200 más. ¡Un lujazo!
La decoración es otro punto fuerte. Verde por todas partes, plantas naturales, ese tipo de ambiente que te abraza.
Me enamoré particularmente de unas potus colgantes que decoraban la zona de mesas. ¡Quiero unas así en mi casa!
Eso sí, el lugar es pequeño y tiene solo un baño, así que en días muy concurridos, como hoy, eso puede ser un detalle a mejorar.
Pero la atención fue tan amable, tan dulce, que todo fluía. Se nota que está atendido por sus propios dueños y que hay mucho amor puesto en cada detalle.
Además, la heladería tiene buenos precios y promos.
Y en la parte de cafetería todo se veía delicioso. Ya estoy planeando volver para probar la Matilda, que se ve escandalosamente buena.
Me encanta que existan estos espacios. Que se abran nuevos emprendimientos con corazón. Que se cree comunidad desde la mesa.
Y me encanta aún más haber celebrado este 9 de julio con un almuerzo así, lleno de sabor, calidez y alegría.

Hello community, how are you?
Recently they opened Amapola, a restaurant, cafeteria and ice cream parlor located just four blocks from my house. It is on a corner in San Miguel, at Muñoz 997, and although from the outside it already looked cozy and very well located, I had not had time to visit it... until today.
Just this July 9th, national holiday in Argentina, my daughter told me:
Mom, now I was coming from shopping and I passed by Amapola and I saw that today they have a special menu for the holiday. What if we go and visit them?
And so we did. We took advantage of the perfect weather: no frost, even the sun came out. We walked there with just enough clothes, a jacket that in the end I didn't even wear because I went out in a T-shirt (or flannel, as we would say in Venezuela).
When we arrived, we found a very crowded and festive atmosphere. The menu of the day was impossible to ignore: a fried empanada that was es-pec-ta-cu-lar (and I am not a friend of fried empanadas!).
A steaming plate of traditional locro, beans, chorizo, pork, corn... a delicious bomb.
And a pitcher of your choice of beverage (lemonade, grapefruit).
And for dessert, a small square of tiramisu that was to be applauded. All for only 8,500 pesos.
And if you wanted to add a generous glass of wine, only 1,200 more. A luxury!
The decoration is another strong point. Green everywhere, natural plants, that kind of atmosphere that embraces you.
I particularly fell in love with some hanging potus decorating the table area. I want some like that in my house!
Of course, the place is small and has only one bathroom, so on busy days, like today, that can be a detail to improve. But the attention was so kind, so sweet, that everything flowed. You can tell it is run by its owners and there is a lot of love put into every detail.
Besides, the ice cream parlor has good prices and promotions.
And in the cafeteria part everything looked delicious. I'm already planning to go back to try the Matilda, which looks outrageously good.
I love that these spaces exist. That new ventures with heart are opened. That community is created from the table.
And I love even more to have celebrated this July 9th with a lunch like this, full of flavor, warmth and joy.
