The year 2019 - 2020 was an unforgettable one where the world experienced a pandemic of covid-19. This is actually my first time of experiencing such a terrific moment over more than three decades. There was a lockdown period imposed by government of nations to curtail the spread of this deadly virus, it was such a challenging period indeed which no one would have ever wished for again. This experience doesn't leave us the same as it left different imparts on different individuals.

For me, this experience is a two sided way because it came with both challenges and opportunities. The challenges involved a difficult and unprepared schedule at work as i was then undergoing my professional internship at a government hospital here in Nigeria and as frontline workers, we are not excluded from coming to work, therefore it was really challenging for me then. In addition to this, i had always envisage my immediate mobilisation for the national service immediately after my professional internship, however, this plan was thwarted as the lockdown as a result of the pandemic forced us to have a year delay till the lockdown was lifted.

However, inspite of all these, i experienced a new horizon and this i like to express as positive changes post pandemic. Post pandemic, my career path gained more visibility and recognition even as a healthcare professional (Pharmacist) especially we in the community pharmacy premise as we experienced a new trajectory in service delivery. I remembered many consultations i received and how i was able to provide quality healthcare for people as Pharmacies became first point of call due to overwhelmed hospital facilities even though referral was made for complex cases. This helped me to see and think differently career-wise unto a new level.

In addition, my online presence and my technical prowness as regards ICT, media, internet etc was greatly improved. This pandemic experience opens me up to new ideas and exploration of technologies (which has been there since) that i needed for efficient service delivery, for personnal use, for skill acquisition and for many other purpose. For example, i have done courses, interviews, attended meetings virtually through the use of relevant gadgets which became pronounced post pandemic and is still in use till now.

Also, another significant difference four years post pandemic for me is a great lesson the pandemic thought me about pro-activeness, preparation and good management. The impart of the pandemic was greatly felt here in Africa even in Nigeria as there was no adequate for such emergencies. I remembered then that it was at the hit of pandemic the isolation centres which ought to be in existence were just carved out. Not only this, what about the quality management of the facilities, equipments post pandemic. Therefore, i learnt the principle of pro-activeness and good management which makes a difference for me.

However, there are things that needs to return to nolmacy as it were pre-pandemic as it is getting out of hand now. Top on the list is the high cost of food prices and of drugs as a post pandemic effect. Due to the lockdown then, food production and distribution reduced greatly coupled with economy downtime as experienced in different nations of the world and hence, hike in food prices which needs urgent intervention to return to nolmacy. The same also goes for hike in drug prices post pandemic which also calls for urgent attention.

Another thing to bring back from pre-pandemic which is no longer normal is increase in wealth creation, job opportunities etc. Many people lost their jobs as a result of the pandemic even as companies, institutions either downsize or folded up. This is not as pronounced during the pre-pandemic compared to the post pandemic era we are now and this calls for urgent attention. There is need to leverage on technological advancement, skill acquisition, entrepreneurship to salvage this situation.

Lastly, there is increase in addictions to phones and gadgets, uncensored access to the internet/media,
fake news and other similar related incidences due to more exposure to the internet, social media during the lockdown most especially tenagers and adolescents. There are alot of exposure to wrong contents especially post pandemic as compared to the pre-pandemic era. Therefore, i will like a return to the pre-pandemic era of censored and guided internet views, less media propagandas/fake news and so on. Thank you for reading as comments, contributions are welcomed.
