I went to the market last night to buy some daily necessities, such as potatoes, onions and garlic. But the situation I saw when I went to the market is really worrying. Due to the impact of the floods caused by the recent excessive rains in our area, the prices of all daily necessities have increased dramatically.
The prices of potatoes and onions in particular are going beyond the purchasing power of the common man. The question also remains whether a class of unscrupulous traders are creating an artificial crisis by capitalizing on the flood situation. Due to this abnormal price increase, low income people and middle class families are in the most trouble. For them, getting two meals a day is now a big challenge.
It is important to strengthen market supervision in the flood affected areas and take necessary steps to compensate the farmers. We hope that the administration will take quick initiatives to control this situation and come forward to alleviate the suffering of the common man.
