You read the title right. Just another pool-side filler content about to tank your dwell time by 5 minutes. Something I appreciate big time because if you weren't driving my traffic, I wouldn't have a clue what my actual niche is. There are two parts to this content strategy and you are the ultimate core audience, so if you don't engage, our way of wasting time wouldn't hit any KPIs. Long story short, here is the pitch. Remember [the story I shared](https://peakd.com/hive-189157/@fermionico/vivencias-natatorias-espeng-story-4dt) about our new swimming gear? Well, this post serves as a case study on our hands-on experience with those gadgets. And even if you think—with good reason—it’s total clickbait, I guarantee you won't feel the same after scrolling to the end. First, because we'll have already tanked valuable minutes of our lives, and second, because anyone who isn't a seasoned swimmer will never grasp the metrics of the words about to drop. First, we'll talk about the swimsuit, which as you well remember, was hitting its end-of-lifecycle before getting sunsetted for the new one imported from the old continent @stow01's cortesy.

The truth is, I can't really speak to the exact specs of the swimsuit's fabric, but let's just say it fits like a second-skin compression short. The user experience is incredible because the water just glides right over your skin—smooth workflow, if you catch the analogy. In contrast, the legacy suit was a traditional cut, and once it lost its elasticity, it started leaking some serious NSFW content. I don’t know about you, but hitting a pool and bumping into that kind of unsolicited content is a total bounce rate trigger. Thank goodness our routine drops at off-peak hours when the club is completely dead. But that’s no longer a bug. This new suit stays perfectly in place, no matter how many flip-turns I do in the pool, and it optimizes thermal regulation where it covers. Meaning, it retains body heat way better in an environment that's about to transition into colder weather with December right around the corner. Not having to manually optimize or adjust the suit by the fifth or sixth lap is an absolute godsend. The rest is just noise.

He dicho.

A hard-case kit featuring swim goggles, earplugs, and a nose clip rounds out the tech stack of gadgets that join us for every training session. I have to confess, I’ve never actually deployed the nose clip. Even though I was trained by María de Simons (yeah, the exact same coach who trained "La China" María Hung, the Pan American champion and Venezuelan Olympic swimmer), I never mastered one of the most critical skillsets: the flip turn. So, if you’re visualizing a Orca doing backflips in the water at the end of a lap, delete that image, because I’m definitely not that guy. And maybe that's the exact reason why we could never get used to the nose clip. To put it simply, the clamp pressure is way too high, and since its only real use case—preventing water from flooding your nose during a flip turn—is irrelevant to us, we don't use it. As a consequence, I'm officially sunsetting this uncomfortable, useless piece of hardware from our daily rotation. Period.

The earplugs, on the other hand, are an absolute game-changer, and it’s a total blessing to never again suffer from temporary deafness due to water logging my inner ear. The only downside is that they pop out occasionally, but they float, so they won't get lost in the feed. As for the swim goggles, they deliver authentic elite performance and are ultra-comfortable. Once locked into place, they stay rock-solid and maximize visibility for as long as possible. See, because here is a key metric for any real swimmer: your body doesn’t stop sweating just because you’re fully submerged in water, and when sessions scale up for a long-distance swimmer like me, sooner or later, skin perspiration invades your lenses and kills your field of view. That’s just a proof-of-work signal that you're putting in the effort, since it usually triggers around the 15-minute mark of a continuous session. If anyone out there knows a growth hack to extend visibility without hitting the pause button on your swim, please drop some value in the comments section below. Otherwise, thanks for wasting your time at an Olympic level.
