Here we are at the end of 2023. I know it was a mixed year in the crypto verse, but I hope it was a good one for you, overall. If you were either lucky or prepared (and worked your ass off), it might have been even a great one. 😆
Let's look forward to 2024 and what the bull market will bring us. Patience, planning, and execution are the keys! I'll hold myself to my own words since it would be the first time when I'd do this right.

This is also the last update for my Hive goals for 2023. I made a broad overview of the year in one of the previous updates, so I am not going to repeat myself.
Today I was able to complete the final goal I had left that was still achievable: the LEO staking goal.
That means I only really missed my HP + HBD in savings goal, mostly because it was a poorly set goal and because, let's be honest, the market didn't play in my favor. If it did, the goal would have still been poorly set, but probably achieved. The fun fact is that I hit both my initial target and my first revision of the HBD target for this goal, so if I hadn't been greedy and increased the target a second time to move with the market in March or when I did it, this goal would have still been hit. This can be a lesson that can be applied also to orders that are moved up (or down) with the market and never get executed.
Let's see what has changed since last week regarding my Hive goals.
HIVE Power (HP) + HBD in Savings Main Goal Missed
This is my only main goal missed in 2023.
My staked HIVE reached 37,929 HP this week, 75 HP more than last week (fewer posts published this week). I had an urge to power up enough HIVE to start the new year with a round 38k HP, but in the end, I decided to be patient and follow the plan. I completed the PUM challenge for December. I added a little more HBD to the savings, mostly from the interest. Now at 155 HBD. Following the next update, this balance won't be counted, I will only count the one from the HBD challenge, and use this HBD balance when I run out of liquid HBD for the challenge.
Here's what the final situation of the HP+HBD in savings goal looks like:
LEO Staked Main Goal Completed
I staked 200 LEO last week and reached 22,500 LP, my target for 2023. My power-up from this week is exactly what was needed to achieve my year-end target.
The 'LEO Staked' main goal was completed.
Splinterlands Land Expansion Main Focus
Land expansion's main focus extends throughout 2023. Unless I change the strategy, it will be the only main focus / main goal for Splinterlands in 2023. But there will be several 1-3 months goals.
Land Plots Unlocked - Completed
Deadline: End of 2023
Target to consider the goal completed:
- at least 30 land plots in production
Final situation - COMPLETED:

First Land-Related Goal: DEC/DEC-B Saved - Completed
This goal is COMPLETED.
Deadline (passed): When DEC-B offer runs out, either because all were sold out or because the time limit was reached (April 9th).

DEC Saved 2 Goal - Stage 1 Completed, Replaced

New Land-Related Goal: Cards for Staking on Land Stage 2 Completed, Replaced
The purpose of this goal is to build the amount of high PP cards I need for staking on my tract.
We will need to fill 5 slots per plot with staked cards, without requiring summoners (that doesn't mean they can't be used as regular cards).
So, what are the details of this goal?
Deadline:

The total number of maxed-level* cards needed for staking on land: 500 (5 x 100).

Weekly Buy - LEO
I purchased 48 LEO to complete my LEO goal, which is a little lower than I expected. Can't say I complain, lol. The explanation probably is that I curated more LEO posts than usual last week.
