Rajma is the Hindi word for Kidney Beans. However, this delicious vegetarian curry is so popular Northern Indian curry especially in Punjabis. Kidney beans are high in protein so it's healthy and delicious recipes. Rajma rice is always my favourite, I usually have it once a week in lunch. Today also sharing the One pot recipe, it is easy to cook and delicious in taste. It's amazing recipe, the result is a tangy, flavorful and spiced curry with the melt in the mouth, try this recipe.

Ingredients ๐Ÿ“ƒ


โ€ข 1 cup Kidney beans.
โ€ข 2 Medium Size onion.
โ€ข 2 Medium Size Tomato.
โ€ข 4-5 cloves of garlic.
โ€ข 1 inch of ginger.
โ€ข 1 tbsp of turmeric.
โ€ข 1 tbsp of Red chilli powder.
โ€ข 2 tbsp of Coriander powder.
โ€ข 1 tbsp of Garam Masala.
โ€ข Salt to taste.
โ€ข Green Coriander leaves for garnish.

Rinse a couple of times, and then soak 1 cup rajma (kidney beans) in enough water to cover them.

Soaking should ideally last for 6 to 7 hours, so I usually i cooked Rajma in Lunch, so soak them the night before I cook.



Process ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿณ

Add the rinsed and drained kidney beans into the Pressure cooker, add Salt and Baking Soda.

Pressure cook the rajma for 8 to 9 whistles.

Check if the rajma is cooked or not by pressing a few beans with your fingers, it get Soft by pressing, it means it is well cooked, other pressure cooker it again.

Now take the grinding Jar, add the onion, tomato, Garlic, giner and green Chilli all together, make the smooth Paste. It easiest way to make gravy.

Now take a kadai or Pressure cooker, heat the oil, add the cumins seeds and Asafoetida, when they start crackling, add the onion tomato paste into it.

Saute the paste for 6 to 7 minutes until the it's changes the colour at at low Flame. then add Add all the spice powders one by one, again saute it for 2 to 3 Minutes.

Now add the boiled rajma along with it soda salt water, stir it well with paste. Let it cooked for five more Minutes.


Enjoy the hot Rajma with aromatic Baramati Rice, you can also paired it with Indian Roti & Parantha (bread)
