Compliments of the seasons to everyone; I hope we are all enjoying the holiday the best way we can. Today, I decided to make snacks for breakfast, and there were different ideas coming up in my head.
I concluded on making a doughnut, but not your regular doughnut recipe. This is more nutritious, healthy, tasty, and very easy to prepare.

Let's call this recipe a plantain doughnut since plantain will be twisted in the regular doughnut recipe. I have tried different snacks with plantains, but this is my first time trying it with a doughnut, and I wasn't disappointed with the outcome.

I am a huge fan of plantains, and it makes me happy when I can try new recipes with it. The natural sweetness of plantain is a blessing to any food, and I bet you are going to lose this as well.

-
3 small plantains
-
350 g of flour
-
4 tablespoons of sugar
-
½ tablespoon of yeast
-
500 ml groundnut oil
-
¼ tablespoon of salt
Procedure.
- I started by removing the back of the plantain.

I cut the plantain into small pieces and turn them into a small mortar.

-
I pounded the plantain for some minutes until it was partially smooth.

-
I turned the pounded plantain into a container and prepared to make the dough.

- I poured some flour on the pounded plantain in the bowl.

- I switched from mixing to kneading until the mixture became a smooth dough.

- I oiled another container and placed the dough gently in it. The oil is to prevent the dough from sticking to the container.

- The dough needs to rise, so I kept it aside for some time, and if you look at the image below, you will notice the difference in the size.

-
I removed the dough and kneaded it again, which would automatically reduce the size again.

- I cut the dough into smaller sizes and molded the pieces into a ball shape.

-
I made a hole in the dough and gently placed it on a tray.
-
I kept the dough aside after making a hole in everything because they need to rise again but not as much as the first time.

-
Now that the dough has increased in size again, it's time to fry.
-
I heated my deep frying pan first and turned the groundnut oil into the pan.

-
I allowed it to get hot, but it must not be too hot too prevent burning the doughnuts.
-
When the groundnut oil was hot enough to do the frying, I started placing the dough inside the pan.

It's a small frying pan, so I won't be frying much at a time. You must not overfill your frying pan at once if you want your doughnuts to come out in good state.
-
After frying, I removed the doughnuts from the hot oil into a plastic basket to drain excess oil.

-
I repeated the process for all the dough, and the doughnuts are ready for consumption.

Honestly, I knew the outcome would be great because of my gift to know what a food will taste like by just seeing the recipe.
