Happy New Week dear hivers, I hope you are all having a great weekend, yay! Glad to make it to another creative Sunday, where we share our creative talent and also get to learn from others, looking forward to reading all your creative posts as well today.

Today, I want to share a fun and easy sewing project that I recently worked on. My sister reached out to me with a common problem many of us face what to do with a small leftover piece of fabric she had after making a dress for her, I suggested that she make a short if she likes to have one, as it can be worn both as a formal or casual wear, inspiring her the more, I suggested she pairs it with a white shirt for a function she would be having at her workplace last Friday, and she readily agreed.

Making shorts can be quite easy if you know how to draft the basic trouser pattern, all I did was just to reduce the length to my desired short length and make it loosely fitted
Materials Used

Cutting And Sewing Process

- I started by drafting the short pattern, which includes determining the waist, lap, length, crotch, and hip measurement

-
I also cut out the pocket pattern for both sides of the front pattern

-
Using the waist measurement. I cut out the band of the trousers and also ironed stay interfacing on the wrong side of the fabric so it can be firm around the waist and not fold.

-
Continuing, I joined the crotch area of the shorts and sewed in a zipper to the front using a front zipper.

-
I also sewed both pockets to the front

-
Next, I joined the sides of the front and back pattern and finally sewed the waistband and hemmed it neatly.

See how beautiful the shorts turned out, my sister was so happy with her new shorts and even paired them with a white shirt to her workplace as I had suggested.
I'm happy it turned out well and I could share this fun and easy sewing project with you. Making shorts from leftover fabric is a great way to reduce waste and create something beautiful, I hope you're inspired to try this project and share your own creations with us.
