Happy New Week dear creative needleworkers, feels good to make it to another new week which is also the last week of the first month of the year, I hope you are doing great wherever you are, or if you are feeling down, cheer up dear friend, know that worry doesn't solve anything, be intentional about your happiness this year, and watch as everything falls in place, just don't give up. I hope you feel happy now.

If you are my needlework blog follower, I'm sure you must have come across one of my needlework posts I made sometime last week, about a 3-in-1 outfit I was making for my mum, I had shared about the skirt and blouse-making process and asked if anyone could guess the final piece of clothing that completed the outfit, but no one could.

so in today's post I will be making the big reveal and also some alterations I made to the tube blouse, revealing the final lolk of that outfit, I was finally able to send the complete outfit to my mum yesterday, she called feeling so emotional, that I still remembered the request she made last year and was very happy with her gift, she also sent a feedback that it fits perfectly, alongside the mummy prayers which I happily received, still waiting for pictures of her in her outfit though. Thankfully, I had taken a few shots with my mannequin.

For the final piece of clothing, I made a cropped blouse using a black coloured sequin lace fabric, which measures about a yard, this cropped blouse is meant to serve as an inner clothinggggg, unlike me who can rock a tube blouse or gown anytime, my mum won't be comfortable wearing a tube blouse, she is a typical African mum lol, but I still wanted her to have that modern infusion in this outfit knowing I can easily make her an inner, the reason I went ahead making her the blouse, but as my creative pool of idea never runs dry, which I'm so thankful for, I decide to add extra details to the tube blouse, adding straps shaped in a triangular form at the front and just a normal straight strap at the back, so she can feel more comfortable wearing this blouse unlike the rune blowwuse in the image below.

**Cutting and sewing Process of the inner cropped blouse

This is a very easy-to-make blouse, as I made use of a normal bodice pattern, that stops at her waist length. The choice of fabric, a sheer sequin lace, is what adds sophistication to this inner blouse look.

  • I started by drafting and cutting the front and back pattern

  • Then I held in the dart for both front and back before joining them by the shoulders

  • For the sleeves, I drafted and cut out a three-quarter-length sleeve, which I sewed around both armholes

  • I also hemmed the base of the blouse neatly, using a black bias strip.

  • And finally sewed in a zipper to the backside of the blouse

You can see how beautifully put together the final look of this outfit is. There is so much we can do when we put our heart and mind into what we do, and I'm satisfied with the final result of this outfit, also happy to make my mum feel happy. I hope you like this final look as well.
