Happy New Week dear needleworkers, glad to make it to another #needleworkmonday, I hope you are all doing great wherever you are.

It's a rainy day here today, while I enjoy the cool weather, calming the heat we've faced for days, listening to the sound of my sewing machine as it blends with the sound of the rain as it thet hits the rooftop, giving a sort of calming sensation within me, I guess everything just feels at peace at this moment, but a part of me hopes the rain stops before it gets dark, so I can at least take some shots and share with you all the beautiful project I was working on.

After making grandma's dress last week, I had pieces of leftover fabric, if you follow my needlework blog, you already know how I'm making efforts to declutter fabric, which are mostly leftovers from my sewing room, instead of adding these leftovers to the pile I'm still trying to clear, by reusing them to make new outfits for friends and neighbors around, I decided this one won't even have that chance of joining the pile, and since grandma's granddaughter was around for the birthday celebration, who better to own a dress made with same fabric than her, she will be leaving for school tomorrow, so another reason to rush the making of this pretty dress.
I combined the adire fabric this time with a plain crepe fabric.
Cutting and Making Process

-
The main design is at the front Of the dress, the the back Is a basic kimono back gown pattern.

- Focusing on the front, it has a V-neckline,

-
I measured and cut out 2 inches of both sides of the center front pattern piece.

-
To replace the but out, I cut out two strips of the plain black fabric, measuring about 5 inches, and 2.5 inches on fold
-
Placing the two cut-out strips, I sewed the center after leaving the length of the cut-out V neckline

- Next I sewed it to both sides of the front,

-
Then joined the front and back by the shoulders.
Finally, I extended the sieves by 3 inches with the crepe fabric cut the same measurement as the strips, and joined the sides

Here is the finished beautiful design, it's a chic dress, and it's other Mary is happy to have a dress to twin with her grandma.
I guess I can say it's been a good stay, at least the rain stopped right before it got dark for me to take these pictures.
Enjoy the rest of your day, as I would mine.
All images used in this post are mine.
Thank you for reading.❤❤
