Happy Sunday dear creative Hivers, I hope you are all enjoying your Sunday, and taking the much-needed rest as we prepare for another fruitful week.

It's another beautiful edition of the Hive learners' creative Sunday, and I will be sharing with us the making process of a straight skirt that completed the surprise birthday outfit I made for my friend's mum.

I already shared the making process of the two-sided peplum blouse, in case you missed it. I was very happy when I received a message from my friend T this morning on how her mum loved and appreciated her gift, and it also fitted perfectly, pictures included.

It's moments like these that make me happy about being a fashion designer.
Without further ado, let's get right into the making process.

Cutting And Sewing Process

-
First I cut out the front skirt pattern, measuring out her round waist, hip, and knee measurements.

-
Using the front cut-out pattern, I proceeded to cut out the back pattern as well, this time including the zipper allowance.

-
I also transferred this cut-out front and back pattern to the lining fabric which I used in turning them in neatly, before joining the front and back by the sides using the seam allowance given.

-
Continuing, I cut out the waistband which measures 4 inches in width and 2 inches on fold, I also ironed an interfacing/stay to give it more structure

-
Next, I sewed it all around the waistline,

And finally sewed in a zipper to the back of the skirt, and that completes this straight skirt-making process.
There is that joy you get making a outfit meant for a hally celebration, I am glad to be a part of my friend's joy, by celebrating her mum as well in my design.
