Hey All,

Hive Power Circle.png

Its been a time that I did not explore the #hive Blockchain data. Since today is HPUD [Hive Power Up Day], I thought it would be nice to see explore and see my Hive Power Neighbors i.e. who has HP in the range of 140K – 200K+. The idea here was to sense their account activity and see if I could get their account activity, compare engagement levels, and see if I could get insights into how active and consistent they are with their Hive Power growing or are delegating more i.e. what the pattern is. The intention here purely is for analysis and help me benchmark my own growth but also give me a clearer picture of where I stand within the broader Hive ecosystem. So lets go with first with the quering that I triggered and is a running query with the following output that I captured in my DBeaver application.

Query to get users with 140k–200k HP with effective HIVE POWER

WITH globals AS (
    SELECT
        total_vesting_fund_hive,
        total_vesting_shares
    FROM DynamicGlobalProperties
)
SELECT
    a.name AS account_name,
    -- Own HP
    CAST((a.vesting_shares / g.total_vesting_shares) * g.total_vesting_fund_hive AS DECIMAL(20,3)) AS own_hp,
    -- Effective HP (own - out, no delegations in)
    CAST(((a.vesting_shares - a.delegated_vesting_shares) / g.total_vesting_shares) * g.total_vesting_fund_hive AS DECIMAL(20,3)) AS effective_hp
FROM Accounts a
CROSS JOIN globals g
WHERE
    a.received_vesting_shares = 0   -- exclude accounts with delegated-in HP
    AND (a.vesting_shares / g.total_vesting_shares) * g.total_vesting_fund_hive
        BETWEEN 140000 AND 200000 -- filter by OWN HP range
ORDER BY own_hp DESC;

Now that I have the data the big question was, what do I do with it? Do I plot some graphs here and look at delegation patterns, curation activity, or maybe compare posting frequency? Or perhaps identify potential collaboration opportunities with peers in this range? Any guesses? Well here is what I did with the data. Plotted the following different graphs...remebere I am comparing peers which are close to my #hive power range.

As you can see users that are having HP close to my range or above most of them have effective HP meaning they are not delegating their Hive Power which is a very good sign. All this time I had 40% of my Hive power delegated. This was something wrong that I was doing when compared to my peers. I have now got that deelgated HP removed and made it effective HP in the similar lines as of my peers. The other thing that I noticed was how keeping HP effective not only strengthens individual accounts but also reflects a healthier, more consistent on-chain presence. It’s like compounding your own influence instead of letting it dilute elsewhere. And I can see it being reflected in my curation rewards which is more then #hive power being delegated. Ok I guess this should be it for todays post on - "My Hive Power Circle: Who’s Around 140K–200K+ HP - Lets Explore..." Let me know what you guys were able to spot on these trend analysis for my hive power circle users with HP in the range of 140K to 200K Hive Power.. I hope I was able to explain things clearly.
