All humans need privacy. Even small children need to have their own privacy preserved, of course, since they don't have the same head as adults they still need to be through constant vigilance. Kids are known as vulnerable, like the elderly. These two groups for sure don't have enough maturity to deal with their lives completely by themselves. Children still need to acquire maturity, while most elderly lose their sense a bit. They are known as vulnerable because they are easier to explore somehow, such as financially or sexually. What about adults? I am talking about 18 years old to 60 years old? Our still not old parents, brothers, children and partners, should we break the privacy barrier?

Sometimes it is difficult, we know that loved ones are passing through difficulties and we don't know how to do it. A friend of mine is just having a problem with their child. A 20-year-old person that just joined a university and was expelled because they didn't have good grades. After that when back home the person returned with a very deep cut on the elbow, which was said that was a sports accident. This young adult was going through a problem but for some reason didn't want to tell everything to their parent, what the parents should do in a case like that?

A 20-year-old is already an independent adult outside of our care. Unfortunately, now parents can't do anything about it. They can offer a shelter and a safe place to share their problems, but that is the only thing to do. They can't force their child to tell, it will only create more problems. I have been trying to cultivate with my daughters since an early stage in their lives this type of connection and safe place where they can share everything without judgment. Maybe this way they will continue to share the problems and have us as a good point to share it without any judgment that they are acting good or bad. While offering this shelter, we need to offer supervision and question them like: "Do you think that it is fair what are you doing with your sister? If she was doing that with you, would you like it?".

Loved ones probably hide problems because they have fear of judgment, since for them, that problem is a shame them, and they have their thoughts that " I need to solve that by myself because it is a shame that I am passing through that". That type of weight needs to be reduced for the person to share with you. Even with my wife sometimes is difficult to make her comfortable to share her problems with me, I think I created some type of safe environment and she shares some personal problems with her family or work with me. And sometimes she prefers to hide, which makes me a bit not very comfortable. But I totally understand her, sometimes I also feel this way.

Adulthood is challenging but difficult to enter through the privacy of the others that we love, but offering a good and warm shelter is the best way where at least they can share with us problems, and get a bit of relief and maybe some help. Kids and the elderly have some limits in their privacy since they depend on us and they don't know many times how to deal with their own problems. Internet is a problem with that, so at least with my kids, they are still disconnected without any social media accounts, with the elderly that is more difficult since some of them made their accounts already when they were with a better head. That's why they are the main target of social media scammers. But if you want your kid to continue next to you, start offering a nice shelter for problems at home. That maybe will help them in their adulthood.

Todos os humanos precisam de privacidade. Até mesmo as crianças pequenas precisam ter sua privacidade preservada, claro que, como elas não têm a mesma cabeça dos adultos, ainda precisam estar sob constante vigilância. As crianças são conhecidas como vulneráveis, assim como os idosos. Esses dois grupos com certeza não têm maturidade suficiente para lidar com suas vidas completamente sozinhos. As crianças ainda precisam adquirir maturidade, enquanto a maioria dos idosos perde um pouco o senso. Eles são conhecidos como vulneráveis porque são mais fáceis de explorar de alguma forma, como financeiramente ou sexualmente. E os adultos? Estou falando de pessoas de 18 a 60 anos? Nossos pais ainda não idosos, irmãos, filhos e parceiros, devemos quebrar a barreira da privacidade?

Às vezes é difícil, sabemos que os entes queridos estão passando por dificuldades e não sabemos como fazer. Um amigo meu está com um problema com seu filho. Uma pessoa de 20 anos que acabou de entrar na universidade e foi expulsa porque não teve boas notas. Depois, ao voltar para casa, a pessoa voltou com um corte muito profundo no cotovelo, que foi dito ser um acidente esportivo. Esse jovem adulto estava passando por um problema, mas por algum motivo não queria contar tudo aos pais, o que os pais devem fazer em um caso como esse?

Uma pessoa de 20 anos já é um adulto independente fora do nosso cuidado. Infelizmente, agora os pais não podem fazer nada a respeito. Eles podem oferecer um abrigo e um lugar seguro para compartilhar seus problemas, mas isso é a única coisa a fazer. Eles não podem forçar o filho a contar, isso só criará mais problemas. Tenho tentado cultivar com minhas filhas desde cedo esse tipo de conexão e lugar seguro onde elas podem compartilhar tudo sem julgamento. Talvez assim elas continuem compartilhando os problemas e nos vejam como um bom ponto de apoio, sem nenhum julgamento de que estão agindo bem ou mal. Enquanto oferecemos esse abrigo, precisamos oferecer supervisão e questioná-las como: "Você acha justo o que está fazendo com sua irmã? Se ela fizesse isso com você, você gostaria?".

Os entes queridos provavelmente escondem problemas porque têm medo de julgamento, já que, para eles, esse problema é uma vergonha, e eles pensam que "eu preciso resolver isso sozinho porque é uma vergonha passar por isso". Esse tipo de peso precisa ser reduzido para que a pessoa compartilhe com você. Mesmo com minha esposa, às vezes é difícil deixá-la confortável para compartilhar seus problemas comigo, mas acho que criei um ambiente seguro e ela compartilha alguns problemas pessoais com a família ou o trabalho comigo. E às vezes ela prefere esconder, o que me deixa um pouco desconfortável. Mas eu a entendo totalmente, às vezes também me sinto assim.

A vida adulta é desafiadora, mas é difícil entrar na privacidade dos outros que amamos, mas oferecer um bom e caloroso abrigo é a melhor forma de, pelo menos, eles poderem compartilhar conosco os problemas, obter um pouco de alívio e talvez alguma ajuda. Crianças e idosos têm alguns limites em sua privacidade, pois dependem de nós e muitas vezes não sabem como lidar com seus próprios problemas. A internet é um problema nisso, então, pelo menos com meus filhos, eles ainda estão desconectados, sem contas nas redes sociais. Com os idosos isso é mais difícil, já que alguns deles criaram suas contas quando estavam com a cabeça melhor. É por isso que são o principal alvo dos golpistas nas redes sociais. Mas se você quer que seu filho continue ao seu lado, comece a oferecer um bom abrigo para problemas em casa. Isso talvez os ajude na vida adulta.
