I mentioned one or two times in here how my school period was terrible. I mostly said that I had problems with bullying, maybe because I was a very reserved person who didn't know how to react to every bullying event. I was a geek/nerd and that made me different from the rest of the class. My school period was a lot about social and parental pressure on me. When I was at home my parents only wanted to know about my grades and didn't care about other things, and at school, I had this problem. Is there something that I miss from this period of my life?

The question is simply answered by the whole feelings that were in my mind during that time. Life improved a bit after for luck my school changed to another far neighbourhood. My parents didn't have time and money to make me go to this neighborhood so I switched schools. My last year of school was different from the rest. In a new school, my social life was rebooted and I didn't suffer bullying. I met people and had more friends. So if I consider my whole school experience as that last year, one thing that I miss a lot is some friends. I regret that I didn't invest much to stay in touch with them. I could say that 4 or 5 people there were worth staying in touch and even with all the internet tools available, I could only find one of them. But this one wasn't so interested in getting in touch.

It is very sad when I think behind about my school period of life. It was a time when I was supposed to take advantage of not having adult responsibilities. I didn't need to pay bills during that time. My parents used to bring food for me, I didn't need to plan where to get money to feed me and others that live with me. These responsibilities are the main reason why I feel over-pressure nowadays and I didn't have it. So basically I miss that feeling, of not needing to pay my bills by myself. However, during that time I couldn't see this way.

Another thing that I miss was my daily soccer/football practice that I had with friends who used to live in the same neighborhood. Even if I had to study, I had usually a period before super that I could go play downstairs ( I used to live in an apartment building). The building had an irregular rectangle spot just behind the garage where we used to play soccer. It was irregular because one of the corners was further from the goal than the other side. But anyway we could have fun and forget about the problems playing there.

Despite of my first memory of school being bad and bringing bad memories, I still can find good things that happened there. After school I continued as a student for a long time: University, Master's, Ph.D. But it was a different way of being a student. I was an adult and more independent and responsible for my path. During these other periods, the only pressure that I suffered was myself against myself, at least most of the time. I could deal with more and survive better the challenges compared to during my school time. For sure I started to feel happier.

Eu mencionei uma ou duas vezes aqui como foi terrível meu período escolar. Eu disse principalmente que tive problemas com bullying, talvez porque eu fosse uma pessoa muito reservada que não sabia como reagir a cada episódio de bullying. Eu era um geek/nerd e isso me tornava diferente do resto da turma. Meu período escolar foi muito sobre pressão social e dos pais sobre mim. Quando eu estava em casa, meus pais só queriam saber das minhas notas e não se importavam com outras coisas, e na escola, eu tinha esse problema. Há algo que sinto falta deste período da minha vida?

A resposta para essa pergunta é simplesmente dada pelos sentimentos que estavam em minha mente naquele momento. A vida melhorou um pouco depois que, por sorte, minha escola mudou para outro bairro distante. Meus pais não tinham tempo e dinheiro para me fazer ir a esse bairro, então eu mudei de escola. Meu último ano escolar foi diferente dos outros. Em uma nova escola, minha vida social foi reiniciada e eu não sofria bullying. Conheci pessoas e tive mais amigos. Então, se considerar toda a minha experiência escolar como aquele último ano, uma coisa que sinto muita falta são alguns amigos. Lamento não ter investido muito para manter contato com eles. Posso dizer que 4 ou 5 pessoas lá valiam a pena manter contato e, mesmo com todas as ferramentas da internet disponíveis, só consegui encontrar um deles. Mas esse não estava tão interessado em manter contato.

É muito triste quando penso sobre meu período escolar. Foi um momento em que eu deveria aproveitar por não ter responsabilidades adultas. Eu não precisava pagar contas durante esse tempo. Meus pais costumavam trazer comida para mim, eu não precisava planejar onde conseguir dinheiro para me alimentar e aos outros que viviam comigo. Essas responsabilidades são a principal razão pela qual sinto uma pressão excessiva hoje em dia e não as tinha naquela época. Então, basicamente, sinto falta desse sentimento de não precisar pagar minhas contas sozinho. No entanto, naquele tempo, eu não conseguia ver dessa maneira.

Outra coisa que sinto falta era minha prática diária de futebol que eu tinha com amigos que costumavam morar no mesmo bairro. Mesmo que eu tivesse que estudar, geralmente tinha um período antes do jantar que eu podia ir jogar lá embaixo (eu costumava morar em um prédio de apartamentos). O prédio tinha um espaço retangular irregular logo atrás da garagem onde costumávamos jogar futebol. Era irregular porque um dos cantos ficava mais longe do gol do que o outro lado. Mas de qualquer forma, podíamos nos divertir e esquecer dos problemas jogando lá.

Apesar da minha primeira lembrança da escola ser ruim e trazer más lembranças, ainda consigo encontrar coisas boas que aconteceram lá. Depois da escola, continuei como estudante por muito tempo: Universidade, Mestrado, Doutorado. Mas era uma maneira diferente de ser estudante. Eu era adulto e mais independente e responsável pelo meu caminho. Durante esses outros períodos, a única pressão que sofria era eu contra mim mesmo, pelo menos na maioria das vezes. Eu conseguia lidar com mais coisas e sobreviver melhor aos desafios em comparação com meu tempo na escola. Com certeza comecei a me sentir mais feliz.
