I saw @kerrislravenhill as an organizer of the new Ladies of Hive challenge so I had to participate in it for sure. One of the terms selected for the week was also one of my favorites: charity. Well, charity has been part of my personal life since always, and lately, I have been trying to bring this concept also to Hive and to define how we can give to hive "institutions" or communities and contribute to their growth. In a world full of social discrepancies and ecological problems, giving resources (money or your time/skills) is important in our movement to "fix" the world. Of course that use as individuals is very difficult to end all the problems by ourselves, but every little thing that we do can make a difference. I believe that the effort that we provide to help fix the world is enough, and each one of us has the potential to do whatever we can. That's enough.

Um dos termos selecionados para a semana também era um dos meus favoritos: caridade. Bem, a caridade faz parte da minha vida pessoal desde sempre, e ultimamente, tenho tentado trazer esse conceito também para o Hive e definir como podemos dar às "instituições" ou comunidades do Hive e contribuir para o crescimento delas. Em um mundo cheio de discrepâncias sociais e problemas ecológicos, doar recursos (dinheiro ou seu tempo/habilidades) é importante em nosso movimento para "corrigir" o mundo. Claro que, como indivíduos, é muito difícil resolver todos os problemas por nós mesmos, mas cada pequena coisa que fazemos pode fazer diferença. Acredito que o esforço que dedicamos para ajudar a melhorar o mundo é suficiente, e cada um de nós tem o potencial de fazer o que estiver ao nosso alcance. Isso é o suficiente.

_{Social problems are everywhere, we need to do something to change.}

In my life outside of Hive, I always separate some funds to provide to charity, also I started to motivate my kids to do that. We always give coins to my oldest daughter to promote ways to help us at home. When she decided to finally buy something with what she had, I explained to her how is important to donate a part to help something in our world, and I asked her what she wanted to change. She answered me she wanted to help kids that doesn't have resources to play. So I looked in our local institutes around town and found a sports charity for young kids who can't afford extracurricular activities. So I asked her if she wanted to share her money with this institution. She liked the idea and she gave 2$ (I think she had a total of 5$ or less) of course I topped up the donation to reach 10 or 15 dollars ( I don't remember). Like personal investments, I like to diversify a bit my charity investments. Since my birthday is very interesting to be on the same day considered World Ocean's Day, now you can remember when is my birthday if you google it, I like to every year donate a bit for an institute that also focuses on Ocean conservation. One year I donated to an Orca conservation project in the Pacific region and last year I donated to the Canadian Wild Life Federation. Also, there is a special holiday coming on, called the New Year of the Trees, important in my religion. Usually, it is a good day when you plant a tree, however, here in Canada it is a bit different to plant a Tree when the soil is frozen. I will symbolically plant some herbs at home with the kids and also donate some money to Tree Canada, a local institution focused on planting trees around the country. I like also to help charities focused on helping people get food and medical treatments, some time ago before kids I used to help give food to the poor during Christmas. Nowadays I know that I need to find some time and go back with this type of action. However, there are interesting charities like Doctors without Borders that help populations in need around the world.

In Hive I made already a post about charities in the blockchain and donated all the reward of that post to communities like Ladies of Hive, since it is the only community focused on empowering women here, and it is important to focus in this problem since around the world still many women don't have the same rights of men. And here is the space for them to fight for this space. Also, some important communities focusing on the LGBTQ+ movement like @queercoin are important, I guess still I don't see so much power in this portion of the population that because of their daily suffering, they sometimes prefer to hide themselves instead of suffering with prejudice. Recently, I started a personal campaign to delegate to communities that are small and curate their local community, and I gave examples of countries that have their community and still aren't as big as many others. For example: Hive Br for the Brazilian community and Hive Pakistan for the Pakistani community are some examples of communities that help and they also provide HP if you delegate to them ( Ladies of Hive also do that and I recommend delegating to them as well).

Em minha vida fora do Hive, sempre reservo alguns fundos para doar a instituições de caridade, e também comecei a motivar meus filhos a fazerem o mesmo. Sempre damos moedas para a minha filha mais velha como forma de incentivá-la a nos ajudar em casa. Quando ela decidiu finalmente comprar algo com o que tinha, expliquei a ela como é importante doar uma parte para ajudar algo em nosso mundo, e perguntei a ela o que ela gostaria de mudar. Ela me respondeu que queria ajudar crianças que não têm recursos para brincar. Então, pesquisei nos institutos locais ao redor da cidade e encontrei uma instituição de caridade esportiva para crianças que não podem arcar com atividades extracurriculares. Perguntei a ela se ela queria compartilhar seu dinheiro com essa instituição. Ela gostou da ideia e doou 2 dólares (creio que ela tinha um total de 5 dólares ou menos). Claro, eu complementei a doação para atingir 10 ou 15 dólares (não me lembro ao certo). Assim como em investimentos pessoais, gosto de diversificar um pouco meus investimentos em caridade.

Já que meu aniversário coincide com o Dia Mundial dos Oceanos, o que facilita lembrar quando é meu aniversário se você pesquisar no Google, gosto de doar um pouco a cada ano para uma instituição que também se concentra na conservação dos oceanos. Um ano, doei para um projeto de conservação de orcas na região do Pacífico, e no ano passado, doei para a Federação Canadense de Vida Selvagem. Além disso, está chegando um feriado especial chamado Ano Novo das Árvores, importante em minha religião. Geralmente, é um bom dia para plantar uma árvore, mas aqui no Canadá é um pouco diferente plantar uma árvore quando o solo está congelado. Simbolicamente, vou plantar algumas ervas em casa com as crianças e também doar algum dinheiro para a Tree Canada, uma instituição local focada no plantio de árvores em todo o país. Gosto também de ajudar instituições de caridade voltadas para fornecer alimentos e tratamentos médicos às pessoas. Há algum tempo, antes de ter filhos, costumava ajudar a distribuir alimentos para os pobres durante o Natal. Atualmente, sei que preciso encontrar um tempo e retomar esse tipo de ação. No entanto, há instituições interessantes, como Médicos Sem Fronteiras, que ajudam populações carentes ao redor do mundo.

No Hive, já fiz um post sobre instituições de caridade na blockchain e doei toda a recompensa desse post para comunidades como Ladies of Hive, já que é a única comunidade focada em capacitar mulheres aqui, e é importante focar nesse problema, pois ainda existem muitas mulheres no mundo que não têm os mesmos direitos que os homens. E aqui é o espaço para elas lutarem por esse direito. Além disso, algumas comunidades importantes voltadas para o movimento LGBTQ+, como @queercoin, são fundamentais. Ainda acho que não vejo tanto poder nessa parte da população que, devido ao seu sofrimento diário, às vezes preferem se esconder em vez de enfrentar o preconceito. Recentemente, iniciei uma campanha pessoal para delegar a comunidades menores que curam suas comunidades locais, e dei exemplos de países que têm sua comunidade e ainda não são tão grandes quanto muitas outras. Por exemplo, Hive Br para a comunidade brasileira e Hive Pakistan para a comunidade paquistanesa são alguns exemplos de comunidades que ajudam e também oferecem HP se você delegar para elas (Ladies of Hive também fazem isso, e recomendo delegar para elas também).

Charity needs to be part of everyone's life, if you can't donate money, your time, or any skills. You still can do good for your local community or world. If you find trash, or garbage in the ground, don't forget to throw it in the trash. You can consume less energy power at home and produce less garbage reusing much stuff. So please be nice with our world and community and let's together fix the world. A caridade precisa fazer parte da vida de todos; se você não pode doar dinheiro, pode doar seu tempo ou habilidades. Ainda é possível fazer o bem para sua comunidade local ou o mundo. Se encontrar lixo no chão, não se esqueça de jogá-lo na lixeira. Você pode consumir menos energia em casa e produzir menos lixo reutilizando muitas coisas. Portanto, seja gentil com o nosso mundo e comunidade e vamos juntos consertar o mundo.
