My dreamed adventure is a great topic for a post. I have two at least. I love to travel but still, I didn't meet more than 10% of the world. If I had all the resources I could visit all the countries until the end of my life. I can imagine myself meeting different cultures and trying their food. However, there is still a bigger adventure than that, which for me requires more resources and opportunities compared to travel around the world, which already demands a lot of resources that I don't have right now. The adventure is a space travel through the universe.

Minha aventura sonhada é um ótimo tema para um post. Eu tenho pelo menos duas aventuras em mente. Adoro viajar, mas ainda não conheci mais do que 10% do mundo. Se eu tivesse todos os recursos, poderia visitar todos os países até o final da minha vida. Consigo me imaginar conhecendo diferentes culturas e experimentando suas comidas. No entanto, há uma aventura ainda maior do que isso, que para mim requer mais recursos e oportunidades em comparação com viajar pelo mundo, o que já exige muitos recursos que não possuo atualmente. A aventura é uma viagem espacial pelo universo.

Since I was young I have always been amazed by science in general, and I had a preference for Biology, that's why I went through Biology school. However, the mysteries of the Universe are so big that I got interested as well and curious. I remember watching many documentaries when I was young about different types of space objects and planets in general. I think that astronomy is a science that walks together with biology since our planet's evolution walks hand in hand with living beings' evolution.

In 2016, I and my wife made the last trip before having kids, since my first daughter was born in 2017. We planned a trip to Disney World. I went again with the kids to Disney World last year and it was a different trip. We spent less money without kids, of course, we ate only sandwiches all the trip, we also didn't pay for the extra shortcuts to avoid huge queues.

In 2016, I could feel a bit part of my dream, the Epoct Center, one of Disney's parks, has a ride called Mission: Space. It is a spacecraft simulator, it simulates the take-off from Earth, with the gravity pushing you and feeling all the feelings exiting Earth's atmosphere. That was amazing, and it was beautiful, even knowing that it was just a simulator. My wife went to a light version of the ride that they offer for kids and people sensitive to that type of physical stress. That made me feel that I needed to see the real thing.

We know that nowadays there are companies that make space travel, the Virgin Galactic and SpaceX. I don't know the costs, but I even don't dare to look since I won't have the money. These companies have spacecraft that go to space and come back but still, they don't exit Earth's orbit. That is good, but if I am dreaming of a perfect adventure, why not imagine a travel to Mars?

The travel would start with the takeoff, maybe a pit stop on our Moon when we reach space. From the Moon, we would be able to see our planet from an impressive point of view. After this pit stop we would come back to our spacecraft and go to Mars. The distance of Mars from Earth is around 225 million km on average, it depends on how the orbit is. It is a lot and the trip would take 7 months (NASA source). It is a bit, but maybe the spacecraft would have many different types of entertainment while I was on this trip, including SPA of course. So maybe it would be more similar to a cruise ship in space. Mars of course would have something similar to a hotel where we could stay there after landing. We would be able to walk a bit in the desertic environment of Mars, but most of our stay there would be in this hotel. After that we would have 7 months again way back, so in total, we would spend at least 14 months on this trip.

Desde jovem, sempre fui fascinado pela ciência em geral e tinha uma preferência pela Biologia, razão pela qual cursei a escola de Biologia. No entanto, os mistérios do Universo são tão vastos que também despertaram meu interesse e curiosidade. Lembro-me de assistir a muitos documentários quando era jovem sobre diferentes tipos de objetos espaciais e planetas em geral. Acredito que a astronomia é uma ciência que caminha lado a lado com a biologia, uma vez que a evolução de nosso planeta está intimamente ligada à evolução dos seres vivos.

Em 2016, minha esposa e eu fizemos a última viagem antes de ter filhos, já que minha primeira filha nasceu em 2017. Planejamos uma viagem para a Disney World. Voltei novamente com as crianças para a Disney World no ano passado, e foi uma viagem diferente. Gastamos menos dinheiro sem as crianças, claro. Comemos apenas sanduíches durante toda a viagem e também não pagamos pelas filas extras para evitar longas esperas.

Em 2016, pude realizar um pouco do meu sonho, o Epcot Center, um dos parques da Disney, tem uma atração chamada Mission: Space. É um simulador de nave espacial que simula a decolagem da Terra, com a gravidade empurrando você e a sensação de sair da atmosfera terrestre. Foi incrível, e mesmo sabendo que era apenas um simulador, foi belo. Minha esposa experimentou uma versão mais leve da atração oferecida para crianças e pessoas sensíveis a esse tipo de estresse físico. Isso me fez sentir que eu precisava ver a coisa real.

Sabemos que hoje em dia existem empresas que oferecem viagens espaciais, como a Virgin Galactic e a SpaceX. Não conheço os custos, mas nem me atrevo a procurar, pois não terei o dinheiro. Essas empresas têm espaçonaves que vão para o espaço e retornam, mas ainda não saem da órbita da Terra. Isso é bom, mas se estou sonhando com uma aventura perfeita, por que não imaginar uma viagem a Marte?

A viagem começaria com a decolagem, talvez com uma parada na nossa Lua quando alcançássemos o espaço. Da Lua, teríamos uma visão impressionante do nosso planeta. Após essa parada, voltaríamos para nossa espaçonave e seguiríamos para Marte. A distância de Marte da Terra é de cerca de 225 milhões de km em média, dependendo da órbita. É muito, e a viagem levaria 7 meses (fonte da NASA). É um pouco longo, mas talvez a espaçonave tenha muitos tipos diferentes de entretenimento durante a viagem, incluindo um SPA, é claro. Então, talvez seja mais parecido com um navio de cruzeiro no espaço. Marte, é claro, teria algo semelhante a um hotel onde poderíamos ficar após o pouso. Seríamos capazes de caminhar um pouco no ambiente desértico de Marte, mas a maior parte de nossa estadia seria nesse hotel. Depois, teríamos mais 7 meses voltando, então, no total, passaríamos pelo menos 14 meses nessa viagem.

This adventure will complete my life for sure with an experience that I won't forget never, I would be able to die after this trip since I would have seen most of my dreams live with my eyes and some pictures of course. Maybe after returning, I would be able to go back and travel to meet more countries if I still have money for that. Seeing all of the places that I want to visit now from a privileged point of view outside of Earth would be amazing, but for now, I am happy that I could go to that Disney simulator and make me dream a bit about that.

Essa aventura certamente completará minha vida com uma experiência que eu jamais esquecerei; eu poderia até morrer depois dessa viagem, pois teria visto a maioria dos meus sonhos se tornarem realidade diante dos meus olhos, e, é claro, registrados em algumas fotos. Talvez, após o retorno, eu consiga voltar a viajar para conhecer mais países, se ainda tiver dinheiro para isso. Ver todos os lugares que desejo visitar agora de um ponto de vista privilegiado fora da Terra seria incrível, mas, por enquanto, estou feliz por ter ido a esse simulador da Disney e ter permitido que minha imaginação sonhasse um pouco com isso.
