Guiding the newbies on the hive blockchain about what they can do that would make their stay on the hive ecosystem a smooth ride has been discussed overtime. But overtime it all boils down to users perspective and experiences. In view there are several tips that could come in handy, that would help both blogging career and crypto knowledge. For the purpose of the #hivenaijaweekly community contest, I would share 3 tips that both served as my mistake, but I learnt a lesson from it. No one is perfect. Hopefully, the new year 2024 goes great as we look forward to it been bullish.
As a newbie, you should put into consideration that you can and also cannot survive in Hive space in isolation. There are several tips a newbie should follow and this includes, security of keys, plagiarism, copyright theft, originality, consistency, engagement, stake hive, proper use of tags, finding suitable communities, find your niche, and so on.
SECURE YOUR HIVE KEYS
I know a hivers who had to forfeit all his earnings in his former account because he lost his keys and could not access it, it was difficult for him and he had to start all over again and building from scratch is not an easy feat. So when you get in the blockchain we are always advice to explore ways that we can keep our keys which includes the master key, momo key, posting key and the owner keys. These are very necessary when you want to perform different transactions on the blockchain.
This is the first and most important thing a new hivers should know. Keep the keys in safe place because you cannot memorize them.
PLAGIARISM
Plagiarism is all about using another authors work or content as your own without giving credit or reference to them. On the hive blockchain, when a member plagiarize, the process of recovery when caught is long and hard. When caught by the hive watchers community, your account will be blacklisted and subsequent posts will be heavily down voted by adm or spaminator. All earnings on previous post will be taken away and honestly you will be frustrated. While some hivers have been able to go through the process of appeal, other have lost hope and given up on the account.
There are several ways your hive account can be flagged down, this can be by use of copyright or licensed photos without sources, use of AI generated content, spamming and so on. Newbies on the blockchain have to be careful so as not to make mistakes because it's a tough journey when caught.
FIND YOUR NICHE
A niche is a like an area specialization or o focus on a particular subject, although you can diversify on the hive blockchain considering the fact that there are many communities and various dapps to showcase your talents. As a newbie, there are several communities like do it yourself, ladies of hive for women related stuff, photography lovers for pictures, pinmapple for travel blog, needlework for sewing,afri tunes for music, inleo for basically everything ranging from crypto, lifestyle, and all. By finding your niche on hive helps to be connected to people of like minds, to network in you area of specialization and grow from there.
Although there are lots and lots of tips that newbies should follow to grow on hive but these are the few for now. But in all, it's all about learn and researching frequently because changes are made everyday, developments occur.
