Hello everyone! How are we doing today?
I wish you a happy weekend and im hoping we are resting well because we have had a stressful work week so far.

Being it Saturday, I would have loved to talk about something related to the weekend like party : la fĂŞte or bon weekend : happy weekend

But today’s expression is short, friendly and very common and it is called Ça marche.

When i use this I love to add the exclamation mark to it ❗️ cos of how I like the meaning and the tone I use to say it.

So Ça marche literally means It works but French speakers often use it to mean Okay, Sounds good, or Deal.

Pronunciation: the pronunciation goes like [sah marsh].
you can also use it to say let’s go! We move ! Like when you are in agreement.

Examples:

On se retrouve à 6 heures ? Ça marche ! – Shall we meet at six? Sounds good!

Tu peux m’aider demain ? Ça marche. – Can you help me tomorrow? Sure.

I enjoy expressions like this because they show that languages are more than direct translations. Sometimes a phrase means much more than the individual words.

Thank you for reading
