Being close to nature always gives peace to the mind of a person. The time spent on the riverbank, a little away from the hustle and bustle of the mechanical city, remains bright in the memory forever. Today, on such a lazy afternoon, I suddenly went to the bank of a quiet river near my city. Along with that, I saw a wonderful scene of traditional fishing.

The river, so close to the buildings and bustle of the city, seems to have a different appearance. On one side, the skyscrapers, which are the symbol of modernity, and on the other, the gentle waves of the quiet river, have created a unique scene. It is at this very place that I saw a group of people busy with their daily fishing. When I arrived, they were preparing to cast a large net with bamboo poles in the river. This huge net is locally called a ben net. This net, tied tightly to a bamboo frame, is immersed in water and lifted up by pulling the rope at regular intervals.

The entire structure of the net has been lowered into the water near the river bank. An experienced fisherman, wearing a lungi, is leading the work of lowering the net with great skill. His tanned skin and muscular body show that this is his life. With him is a teenage girl, wearing her salwar kameez. She is also eagerly helping her father. The scene is like a picture, where this integral part of rural culture is highlighted against the backdrop of the modern city. I noticed a small blue pot or jar lying next to them, probably to keep the fish caught from the net.

The feeling of sitting on the river bank and watching their skillful work is indescribable. The constant gurgling of the water and the sound of the net falling into the water together created a strange melody. The surrounding environment was very peaceful. Although the color of the water was a bit murky, its reflection made the cloudy sky and the distant buildings one. The grass and some weeds on the river bank added to the softness of nature. Such a scene in the midst of this busy city is like a quiet island of time.

Today, a few moments spent on the riverbank made my day special. Along with watching the fishing, the pure air of nature and the open environment fascinated me greatly. These small experiences are the main beauty of life. I took several pictures so that this beautiful moment will be captured with me forever. Coming out of the brick cage of the city and coming to the banks of such a river sometimes provides food for the mind. This afternoon was an absolute find for me. I returned home with a very simple but extraordinary experience. Such small trips are very important for mental peace.
