Today, after offering Friday prayers at noon, I saw mangoes being cut and sold beautifully on the roadside. They taste very delicious. And many people are buying them. Friday means a different kind of purity and joy. As soon as I left the mosque after praying, I came across this delicious scene at the crossroads. An elderly seller has carefully cut and arranged raw mangoes on a cart. Many people, young and old, are standing in a circle around me to buy mangoes.
Seeing this scene brings back childhood memories. Raw mangoes are a fruit that makes your mouth water just by looking at them. Especially when your body is a little tired after Friday prayers, this kind of sour, salty and sweet food is very satisfying. The vendor's decorated van not only has mangoes, but also various pickles and spices that enhance the taste of the food many times over. Small children are standing in groups dressed in Punjabi and are looking at the tempting pieces of mango with great interest. A small child was seen looking at the mango basket with a curious look while the adults were buying their favorite mangoes with money.
These mobile roadside stalls in our country are an integral part of rural and urban culture. There is a strange and pure joy hidden in these simple dishes compared to the expensive food of big restaurants. Such an atmosphere on Friday brings peace to everyone's mind. Everyone spends some time in between their busy schedules, talks to each other and enjoys delicious food. These neatly arranged mangoes are not just a food item but a living symbol of human interaction and rural heritage. Such simple living and traditional roadside food enrich our culture.
