Hello friends and fellow hivers around the globe, greetings! Today I want to share an amazing drink recipe with you. After trying this drink, I was surprised that I hadn't tried it before. We have planted many vegetables and berries in our garden, but among them all the red currant bush is thriving best. Every year, we get plenty of berries. We make juice, jams, jellies, muffins, and more, but we had never considered making this drink before.
While the garden is green it is too early to harvest most crops but the red currants are ripe and will soon fall on the ground, so we picked them yesterday Since we already have jars of jams and jellies from previous years, we decided not to make more this time. I planned to dry them, so we cleaned and spread them out for drying. However, the sky became cloudy. Some are still drying, but some I mixed with sugar and blended in a mixer for just one minute to make a puree, After filling a jar with the puree still there were a few tablespoons left. I added water and blended it for 30 seconds. Here is my process of inventing a new variation to drink.
Here I had 500 grams of red currant I added 150 grams of sugar as a preservative. I wanted to store it.
Put in the mixer.
Blended it for 1 minute and filled the jar.
Whatever was left in the mixer jar I added 350ml (1 1/4 cups) water and blended for 30 seconds.
Strained the mixture in the glasses. the glasses were not full but this was my experiment.
It has a very nice pink color.
Now I show you how I made my experiment
I had 2 glasses of a mixture of red currant and water.
2 pinches of salt
2 tsp sugar
2 pinches of black pepper
Added 1 pinch of salt in each glass.
I pinch of pepper in each glass.
1 tsp sugar in each glass.
Stir the mixture nicely.
And drink ready.
Garnished with freshly picked red currant and mint.
Is it not amazing? doing it and consuming it- both are amazing.
Thank you for reading my post.
