As we most times say, "hate the sin and not the sinner" I think this applies to one of the topic chosen in the hive naija weekly topics for this week. Most times, due to the fact that people are different and unique in their own way, we often offend one another. All my life of living in my country, I've gotten to see different people react to the same thing differently and I can't stop thinking how others from other parts of the world would react to that same thing but I'm sure it is still going to be different in some ways.
Dealing with people is a culture I'd say because is a way of life too. You can hardly go a day without interacting with someone except of course you are dead. And for the fact that we deal with people, it's very unavoidable for us to feel irritated by the things some persons do around us and vice versa. I've lived with different people and the truth is, some of these people have done some things that didn't seat well with me at all.
Well, in this post I'd be sharing some of these things with us today...
Advise/Correction
As humans, most of us always feel somehow pissed when someone tries to correct us except we are wise then we will appreciate such corrections or advice. I will say I was quite foolish some years back because I hated being told something that sounded like an advice or correction, like that thing pisses me off a lot! Ahh! Whenever someone tries to correct me, I feel like something is itching me inside my body (now that I'm thinking about it I'm just wondering how foolish I was then, well, thank God I'm a little wiser).
I really can't remember how many people I must have also irritated by my foolish attitude. Then I was called "know know" because I always act like I know it all. But the good thing was, when I'm being given a correction or advice, I try to stay calm and just listen to the advice I'm given but not in all cases, especially in those times when I think what I'm doing is the best.
Pampering a child
Whenever I see a parent pampering a child even when the child is obviously doing the wrong thing, I'm super pissed, lol. It's understandable when a parent pamper their child sometimes but it becomes irritating to me when I perceive that the parent just takes everything his or her child does as right. This often happens when the child is the first child, last child or only child and that makes it even more annoying because I'm a second child 😂.
I guess it pisses me off more because I didn't get some of those pampering but the truth is, whether a child is the first, last or only child, his or her parents owe it to that child to give that child a good home training. I feel that sometimes parents forget that there will come a time when that child will start taking decisions for him or herself and those decisions will be backed up by the kind of home training he or she was given.
Repetition of words
I really don't know why I get pissed off when someone makes me repeat myself over and over. I've been in different situation when someone keeps doing something that I've warned them severally about it and that pisses me off a lot too. But the most annoying part is that when I start feeling pissed, they start saying I get angry too quickly which is true 😂. Like, in my mind I just feel like that person should know that I don't like a particular thing and just stop doing it so I don't get angry but no, that's the thing they will do and wait patiently to tell me that I get angry too much 😏.
The thing is I can go on with the list of things people do that gets me irritated but then I still won't be able to mention them all. I just had to learn to put myself in people's shoes and stop being pissed by almost everything they do because I know that if others get pissed by the things I do to them too, it won't be okay with me. So now, when someone does something that irritates me, I just try to stay calm and think why that person could be doing what he or she is doing and that helps to stop me from getting annoyed unnecessarily, hehe.
