Greetings dear friends, welcome to my blog, I am again participating in the photo contest organized by @qurator, Qurator's Photo Quest | Sunset. While browsing through the photo gallery on my phone, I came across several shots of sunsets. During the pandemic, I used to watch sunsets from the terrace of my house, and I even ended up climbing onto my neighbor’s roof.

As I’ve always said, every sunset is different from the last. I took these photos from the terrace of my house, from different angles. The sky was tinged with shades of red, orange, yellow, white, and gray—a whole palette of colors. Sunsets must be photographed quickly because, in a matter of seconds, these colors give way to other hues, only to disappear and embrace the night.

The reddish hues gradually faded, and yellow began to dominate. This is due to the Rayleigh scattering phenomenon, in which collisions occur between atmospheric molecules and sunlight; the colors in the sky depend on the wavelengths of the scattered light—the longer or shorter these wavelengths are. The yellow, orange, and red hues are caused by long wavelengths.
